Imagine this... You are a Linebacker wearing a Crimson Red Jersey on November 5th. You have been beat down for an entire game by LSU pounding the ball down after down. The game is somewhat close, LSU has the ball and is driving, you are tired and just want it to be over. There is only 1 minute to go in the game, its third and one for the first down and if LSU gets this first down the game is over because you are out of timeouts and cant stop the clock. You are ready for one last play and then you are off the feild. Then...you see Kenny Hilliard check in, you are lined up and you see that Kenny Hilliard is in the Fullback position with Spenser Ware behind him. All you can think is "God please dont let this freight train come thru my hole! The ball is snapped and handed to Ware, Hilliard is first thru the hole with Ware on his heels. When you finally come conscious again you realize there was nothing you could have done to stop this 500 pound freight train from making this first down... Damn glad I ain't one of those linebackers! Thats a scary thought to have... GEAUX TIGERS! :geauxtige
How many DBs have been trucked by Ware and Hilliard this year? I'd love to see a video montage of all the safeties and cornerbacks who tried to corral one of these beasts and ended up on their back or folded over double like a ragdoll. :geaux:ldskule::geaux:
Scary. Here's something even more scary. Your hypothetical linebacker breaks the huddle, looks across the line, and sees the 245 pound Hilliard lined up at tailback behind the 280 pound J.C. Copeland at fullback. You realize you are about to get trucked by more than a quarter ton of beastly LSU running back. Then you wonder where that warm wet sensation running down your leg is coming from.
Not to rain on the parade, but Alabama's lightest starting LB is listed at 242. Not to say Ware cannot truck them, because he's definitely faster which generates more force, but these guys aren't crash test dummies. Personally I would love to see Ware flatten Barron and Lester, but most of all Kirkpatrick. Kirkpatrick thinks he's a big shot who can deliver these big blows, but he only ever hits defenseless WRs on crossing routes who weigh about 180. Let him try to tackle a real ball-carrier head on, and we'll see how big he is.
Here is something even more scary, Russell Shephard goes under center for a play not seen by Alabama, he looks back at Ware, Blue and Hillard in the backfield..........Beckham and Randle out wide, what do they do???:geauxtige
Hurst doesn't get enough love ... I like watching # 72 decleat and pancake what's in front of him, especially when they think they can get around him and lose focus ... Rewatch the Auburn game and note how Hurst gets it done ... Gotta be Grading mid-90's every game Everyone loves Faulk and Blackwell ... Dammitt if it ain't a name recognition thing ... We got another pair ... Hilliard and Faulk Edit ... Had to throw in another pork chop ... Imagine Dworaczyk gets a medical year and is back on this line ... OMG CAN YOU SPELL G~U~T~S~T~O~M~P
