Hey Guys!!! Please talk to me. What does a girl need to know and/or do to learn about LSU Football and/or other sports. Any pointers? GEAUX TIGERS!!!! Thanks Heather ldskule:
You already know the best part or you wouldn't be asking. THAt LSU Football and LSu athletics compares to none. It is not some place you go on Saturday evening or afternoon, it is a way of life, something you feel. You can't get that at any other college venue in the world. It's friends, food, good times and fun and the VERY best of college football win or lose that this life has to offer. It's like that beer commercial: It just doesn't get any better than this. :thumb:
You graduated in 93 and your just now wanting to know about LSU sports?? I knew about as much as a girl when it came to football before coming to LSU and have become obsessed with LSU football ever since my first game. Stick around here a little bit and you'll learn a lot. The thing I've found most important is to learn about the players. I could never get into games because I never knew anything about the players before LSU. Once you get to know some player names and can look for them on the field it makes it much more interesting.
LSU TIGER FOOTBALL is gonna be fine. We guys get worked up for nothin'. Coach Miles has us going in the right direction. We need more ladies like you giving input to this great site. Just remember behind every good football coach is a great woman. I know I have one.
LSU tailgating, second to none! Best beer, food, and music in country. It's the hours before the game that can sometimes be the most enjoyable. Make lots of friends and you'll never go thirsty. Gary Blacketter (former LSU defensive back, '73-'77), Thad Foreman and Kelly Simon are BCS level grillers. http://espn.go.com/page2/s/caple/030918.html
lets see Heather... you need to know to be at Tiger Stadium early enough to watch the players and band come down the hill. you need to get a minimum of 6 hours tailgating in. you need to participate during the HA HA HA HA HA cheer. it never rains in Tiger Stadium
Learning thre rules of the game is a good start too. After two years of football my gf has just learned the difference between offsides and false starts. If you know the rules you spend less time asking questions and more time watching the game. Learning the alma mater is a good thing too, not many people actually know the words.
Read a couple of football books for women. I bought a couple for my girlfriend early in this past season and she read them. Be sure to read one that discusses college football somewhat in depth though. It's "different" from other levels of football. Ever since she read those books, she's been able to enjoy the games a lot more. Mind you, she still does not have a complete feel for what is always going on in the game, but she does at least understand the basics a lot more now. Best of all, I don't have to explain every little thing any more. :thumb:
