Check out there preseason top 25. Florida is #3 and LSU is #13 http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/football/ncaa/specials/preview/2005/scout.report/index.html
Only 5 notches above the Barn?       So glad I cancelled my subscription to the P.O.S. excuse for a publication. Not a damn one of 'em knows what they're talking about (esp. Phil Taylor).
Click on LSU and then look at the caption below the picture of Kyle Williams. It says: "Williams and his defensive mates were quick to embrace Pelini's new scheme." Correct me if I am wrong, but aren't we only a day into practice? This guy talks like Pelini took over last year?
Well, they did have last Spring. On Florida being ranked 3rd, so much for people having to earn things anymore. Hell, even when LSU beats Florida they could be ranked ahead of us because what happened on the field isn't actually important - Urban Meyer is God & deserves to be in the top 5.
I personally could care less where we are ranked in the pre-season ( I know about the issue related to the BCS standings), its all politics and opinions anyway. Potential means you haven't done it yet. It doesn't bother me if we are ranked lower than we feel we should be, hopefully this will only provide more motivation for the team. Does anyone recall where SI rated us b4 the 2003 season ? The only thing under LSU's control is to win ( unless some official makes a completely "bs" call but thats another story) . IMHO, the second and third game of the season will tell us alot about our team. At that point, the rankings MAY bear some semblance to reality. Until then, ignore all of them.
