I've always had mild seasonal allergies and heard in recent years that eating a small amount of locally produced honey regularly can help reduce or eliminate allergies. After reading an article about other health benefits of honey, I took my first trip to our farmer's market last weekend and bought some that is local to my area. Since eating a little on toast with cinnamon for the past few days, I now have a scratchy throat and slight headaches (which seems unusual for middle of summer). Initially, I thought it may be a reaction to the honey while my body is getting used to it. However, my wife is also getting similar allergies and hasn't had any of the honey. Anyone else eat honey regularly for health benefits? Is 2-3 times/week frequent enough or should it be daily? Planning to try it for about a month and then decide whether to keep eating it long term.
