If my son is reasonably making a good effort and not succeeding as well as I would like, I might suggest that he either keep at it, being aware that he needs to improve or find something else to do that he's more suited for. Now, if my son is on "my team" which I coach and not doing well, I would ask myself if our team has someone else who can offer us a better chance of winning. I suspect that CLM and the LSU staff ask the same thing of all players. But, back to your original question... I think that the real issue is what is "bad." I would never call an LSU player who gives his best or at least a good effort "bad." In fact, last night it was refreshing to see the team playing with passion. Even though there were certainly some of the continued "stupid" issues, the team as a whole was certainly giving this game a very "good effort" and I remember thinking early in the game, even if we don't win, I'll be satisfied --- something I did not feel after the Florida game or any of the earlier wins except for Washington. Of course, winning is always a lot better, especially knowing that the team finally looks "good." It is encouraging thinking that we won, beating a very good team and I'm optimistic that this team has the potential to get better --- Even Mett --- and who knows, this might really be a special year after all.
It's not the quaterback thats bad its the impatient idiot fans who know nothing about football. A quaterback has to develope a relationship with his receivers. Mettenberger has only been in the system for a year. Give the kid sometime he's much better than what we had with Jordan Jefferson who was absolutely garbage at quarterback. This kid couldn't find a receiver open for his life.
im more then a fan i started 3yrs at lsu . its dumb fans like you ! if a player needs to develop he doesnt need to do it in a starting postion !
You Telling Me This Boy Better Then JJ ! lol Maybe More Potential But Potential Only Gets Coaches Fired !
I Tell You What JJ Couldnt Drop That Pass In There Like That We Need More Plays Like That 1 & Less Plays Like Throwing Pass The Line Of Scrimage
For one, I wish JJ was our QB this year. I never hated on him, and we could use his feet. But Mett's potential, as you call it, needs to be developed. He should be much better next year, but he's getting an SEC baptism by fire--and has still only lost one game.
