Have you all forgot how many times JJ would have stutter stepped in the pocket and never thrown it and gotten sacked? JJ had better receivers, a better offensive line and was still gawd awful....Mett has a bunch of 2's and 3's for receivers no true number 1 like randle....JJ would have been worse with this team, if that's possible.
i couldnt agree with you more . but his pocket awarness and decicion making needs to be better . we only have one lost because our def has keep us in every game the kid only has 1 sec td this season thats horrible
All good points, and I agree with all of them. Also, the hype surrounding him coming in this year could have been just a little overwhelming. No amount of time on the sideline with a headset and clipboard can't prepare you for reading complex SEC defenses. I think he gets better, but we may not see it til next year, and that's sad to think about considering how good this team would be if we were firing on all cylinders.
Mett is the starter because there is no one capable of unseating him from his spot. If there was, someone else would be taking the snaps. Obviously LSU would be in the same boat with any of the QBs on the team at this time. The tigers are young and inexperienced at the QB spot. Period.
I understand your thinking but being a former player on all levels some players perform better in games just like mett got all that hype and can't perform under the lights . I would kill Josh reed & abram booty in practice but on gameday they ball . With that being said we don't know what we got b/c they not giving anybody else a chance . They could at least give a player a series to see what they got ! I can hit a wide open wr & I played corner
I understand where you are going with this. You haven't to take into consideration he did not take a lot of snaps last year and played at a junior college the year before that. I think he needs some time to get better. He's still very green....
True but he isn't giving us anything yet atleast see what bolden can bring he has played in big games ect.. Look what Russell did @wisconsin give a series or to see what he got ! Mett has 1 sec td you got to admit that's terrible a&m qb was in high school last year and compare those two play against each other
they had someone that covered LSU sports on the radio earlier today, and he said something similar. a caller asked him where we messed up with Mett: is it our QB scouting that is bad or is it or QB development? and he said in all his conversations with the LSU coaches, they say Mett makes all the plays in practice, has a great work ethic in practice, is great in the film room, is the first one in the film room and the last one to leave, etc but that when it comes to the actual game, he's just not a gamer. called him the opposite of Rohan Davey, who wasn't good in practice, but was great in the games also talked about how Mett has yet to get "comfortable" during gametime, and i think Mett's body language reflects that
That's what I'm saying but I played with ro we came in together he ball in pratice it was just booster ball then they want josh booty so that's what we had to go to wade with who we killed at practice smh . I just hope for my hearts sake mett turn perform better or somebody does @ qb because I don't think it can take to much more of me screaming @ my tv lmao
