IMO if we don't make it out of the sweet 16 this year, brady has got to go. If we make the elite 8 he obviously stays. what you tigers think?

Hes running our once proudbasketball program into the groud. He got lucky to 3 strait Parade All Americans from BR. But he lost out on Augusine and the well is running dry. Im afraid by the time they get rid of him it will be too late. All those close games they lose, thats coaching. LSU basketball use to be my favorite but now I just dont care as much. And Im not the only one. When you only get 3 or 4 thousand for a game, thats not good. There is no reason LSU shouldnt be the 2nd best program in the SEC year in year out. We have great tradition for an SEC school and besides KY of course and mabey ARK. We have probably more good history. :geauxtige

Screw that. He better win the national championship. I'm tired of him not winning it all. LSU's history is so rich in basketball national championships. We should be competing for it every year. And we all know that the reason we aren't is because of that idiot John Brady. I don't even need to wait & see how the season turns out. He's going to choke it all away. So, I say go ahead & fire him now. Get the process over with early!

    (Warning: Sarcasm)

Actually, as long as we make a strong push for winning the SEC, make the NCAA tournament & don't get embaressed by a far inferior team in the first round (which we did last year) - then I'll be more than satisfied with this season & the job Brady has done.

If he does not make the NCAA tourny in a a weak SEC (being generous),then ole John should start getting very worried.

I have never been a big basketball fan, but Dale Brown made LSU basketball an national contender. He filled the seats. Now it looks like Brady has returned the program back to the days when the number of fans attending a game could fit in my living room with space to spare for the band. He has to go.

    Are you drunk?

    let me fix your post:

He's running our once proud basketball program into the GROUND. He got lucky to GET 3 STRAIGHT Parade All-Americans from BR, but he lost out on AUGUSTIN and the well is running dry. I'M afraid that by the time they get rid of him, it will be too late. All the close games they lose, THAT'S coaching. LSU basketball USED to be my favorite, but now I just don't care as much. And I'm not the only one. (Unfortunately, this clown is right) When you only get 3 or 4 thousand for a game, that's not good. There is no reason LSU shouldn't be the 2nd best program in the SEC year in and year out. We have great tradition for an SEC school, and besides UK and Arkansas, we probably have the most history...

Phew... okay, now that I got this in a readable format, let me go off...

    1st off...

how can he run a program into the ground that was in the ground when he took over? We were on prohibition, and were the equivilant of a intramural team with all the walk-on players.

    2nd...

All the close games we are losing is INEXPERIENCE! I am sure John Brady is ordering the team to turn it over 40 times a game.

    3rd...

Blame yourself for some of the losses. You said it yourself. 3,000 people. Duke wins countless close home games because of a home court advantage. It is one thing to not like the coach, but you go to games to root for a TEAM, not a COACH, so if you don't go because of Brady, then you are part of the blame, and are also a terrible fan.

    4th...

What is this tradition you speak of? We made a few Final Fours, and you make it seem like we are the UCLA of the SEC. You said we "should be" the 2nd best team in the SEC EVERY year... Hell, I'd take that from the football team, and we are a FOOTBALL school...

Well, I don't want to jump on John Brady's case because I think he's been doing a pretty good job this year SO FAR with the scheduling and competitive play. But there are other things you can't ignore.

Only at the very end of Dale Brown's tenure did the crowds get smaller. But it was not as bad as it is now. I mean, the guy was at LSU forever and he was getting a little too old for it all. And true, the program wasn't in great shape when Brady took it over. And Brady deserved and got a free pass for it for a while. But Brady has done more damage than good.

And I've said before, don't blame all the losses on inexperience because the year we had almost a whole starting lineup of seniors we blew all kind of games and got killed in round 1 of the NCAA tourney when everyone thought we'd go far because of experience.

I'm not gonna say we should be 2nd best in the SEC every year or anything like that, but the basketball atmosphere should at least be one we can be proud of every year. That is the tradition we had for a long time. We went to a ton of NCAA tournaments and the PMAC was one of the best places for a basketball game. We also beat some unbelievable teams. And remember, LSU still has 3 of the top 10 (2 of the top 3) largest basketball attendances of all time (in the world) with well over 60,000 for each game. Pistol Pete, Bob Petit, Chris Jackson, Shaq...All of that is tradition. We haven't won a NCAA title, but that doesn't mean we didn't have great tradition. Hell, most teams have never even been to a Final 4.

Bengal, that's some funny stuff there about the crowd sizes.

Oh yeah, I think there needs to be a spirited lift in LSU basketball for people to change their mind on Brady. Brady definitely needs better attendance or I think he'll be in trouble.

One of the problems that exist, but I don't know if it is entirely fair to totally blame Brady is apathy. With the exception of 2000, LSU has not drawn dick in basketball attendence. Maybe it is something to do with the fact that br is a football town and the costs of going to football games has skyrocketed which is not leaving much of the pie left to spend on basketball.
