1. I have to believe that Slive has a 14th team in mind (probably a 15th & 16th as well), but without that coming to fruition before A&M joins us, what will that do from a scheduling perspective for all sports? The SEC created the current model with two divisions. Now we are confronted with a challenge. Do we abandon the two divisions and go with a single 13 team conference for a year? Do we have uneven divisions giving the West a disadvantage over the East?

And what will happen from a scheduling perspective? Will we have to play everyone in the lopsided SEC West? Will we now rotate through our own division and the SEC East?

Slive says he has a plan to make it work. I would love to at least get an idea of what he is thinking about.
  2. A&M must play all 12 SEC teams their first year. It's kind of like a gang initiation.
  3. sounds like the perfect solution... oh and plays them all on the road...
  4. It is time that the SEC tells us how it is going to work.
  5. Of course...and at night.
  6. See the Vandy is good for something thread for a possible answer.

Mod: these threads could be merged, thanks
  7. It was brought up on sports radio just a bit ago that the SEC By-Laws state that there *must* be an 'even' number of teams for a Championship Game to be played for the conference. So does this mean that next year with aTm making it '13' there won't be a conference champion???? So they go with best w/l stats to determine #1 in the conference and for a BCS berth?
  8. We currently have an even number of teams.

    Alabama - 1
    Arkansas - 2
    Auburn - 3
    Florida - 4
    Georgia - 5
    Kentucky - 6
    LSU - 7
    MSU - 8
    South Carolina - 9
    Tennessee - 10
    Texas A&M - 11
    Vanderbilt - 11 1/2
    Ole Miss -12

    :D :eek:lefire:
  9. Oh yeah... I forgot about Vandy ;)
