An ESPN segment on notable coaching vacancies in men's hoops listed Indiana, Cal, South Carolina, and Rice in that order. Not a whisper about LSU. Also, LSU hasn't had a great point guard since Chris Jackson. Derrick Rose, Ty Lawson, Darren Collison are why their teams are in the Final Four. When will the Tigers get a star at the point and return to prominence?!
No doubt Ty Lawson is a great, great player, but Tyler Hansbrough is the reason UNC is in the Final Four. The team went something like 6-1 or 7-1 without Lawson. Take Psycho T out for that long, the team plays .500 ball, maybe. but anyway, LSU has done a piss poor job handling this all. They should have hired a new coach by now. The NCAA coaches meetings begin, actually today, I think... and Butch Pierre will be there wearing all his LSU gear, because to the best of his knowledge, he is still LSU's coach. That sends a real bad msg.
great msg to recruits. bad msg to potential candidates for the job. and also bad for pierre, b/c he is in limbo, so he doesn't know if he needs to be there looking for work or not.
Speaking of South Carolina rumors are there will be an announcement later that Darrin Horn, Western Kentucky's coach, has accepted the open position.
your tiger fan card should be revoked. no great point guard since CJ? id argue that lsu has had a better PG since CJ. i'll leave you to figure out who it was.
Voogd? Anyway, Temple was on the CollegeInsider.com All-America Defensive Team... 16 players. That is something I guess
Doubt it. The delay is because they want to hire the new AD first. Much better to have the AD in place before hiring the new coach.
The competition is greater for the coach. If LSU wants to hire a top coach like Grant, they had better go ahead and do it or he may not be available when they get around to it.
