Things are setting up nicely for a 7th LSU title run. I just hope NC wins as their pitching seems to be struggling badly.
Only national seed to sweep their Super Regional. Far cry from the struggles of last week. Hopefully we can carry over this weekend's performance over to Omaha. I don't think anyone in college baseball can beat the team that took the field this weekend...that was strong!
To be honest, we just had the one bad inning of fielding (a definite anomaly), spotting Jackson State 5 unearned runs, otherwise that game would have been a rout.
With seniors like Rhymes and Katz finally getting to the CWS in their senior season (and opting to return rather than go pro), it would be an awesome and fitting finish to their storied careers at LSU.
We have the best pitcher in the nation in Nola, the best defense in the nation and argueably the best batting line up in the nation... just another magical yr for our beloved Tigers. What's not to love. Pretty soon we'll be discussing the expansion of The Box.
This Louisville pitcher is dealing. Shutout against mighty Vandy with 2 outs in the 6th (9 strikeouts). Only issue is his pitch count. Oops, he just gave up a homer. 2-1 Louisville. Their bullpen is going to have to be lights out.
LSU will have to be lights out in Omaha. Teams that can go into North Carolina, Vanderbilt, Oregon St, or Cal-Fullerton and take two with so much on the line are not to be taken lightly.
