These are the same assholes who called for New Orleans to be abandoned after Katrina (not to mention that none of them are aware that the storm actually hit Mississippi). The national news keeps talking about the end of the world coming to New York with their 10 feet of water... stack another 15-20 on top of that and you have a real surge...
i walked down to the river to take a photo, it wasnt really flooding into queens. thats roosevelt island and the queensboro bridge (also called the 59th street bridge and the ed koch bridge). the river is 10 feet higher than i have ever seen it, but its no big deal it just covers the walkway on the riverfront.
I'm glad that this storm wasn't worse than it was. The good that can come out of it is that maybe these northeastern people who often are not sympathetic to our hurricane plight might be a little more sympathetic after this.
