Maybe not in Dulac. I remember going to the Service Merchandise store with my Dad to get his first CD player in 1986. I remember because I got to pick out my birthday present that day. I got Grimlock leader of the Dinobots.

My 2 cents, I re-watched the LSU/NWST game and yes, Mett looked much more comfortable in the pocket using his protection and check downs. That was purely looking at footwork and ball release. BUT Lee (Our Starter) connected on 90% of his passes and the man has gotten the job done.

Last time I checked, you don’t fix what isn’t broken. Yes Lee will more than likely make some mistakes down the road, it is going to happen, probably tomorrow night, and when it does, you stand by him (Just like you do with every other player) and hope he makes the adjustments, corrects his mistakes and plays football.

If the situation were reversed and Mett were out there, regardless of how his footwork and released looked. If he were completing passes to the defense, none of that footwork and ball release being better than Lee’s would matter. Everybody on here would be screaming Lee to come in.

It would doom in Tiger Nation all over and we would be saying that Miles has scarred yet another young QB.

Lee is the guy, even when he makes mistakes, all QB's make them. Now if he is 4-21 on 37 yards passing with 0 TD's and 3 ints, then maybe it’s time to pull him, but those number won’t be posted, not from 2011 Jarrett Lee. Mett has a bright future, but right now this is Lee’s team. As long as CLM trust him under center, I do as well.

That's an interesting point. I wonder how many people would be calling for Lee if the situation was reversed?

ZM starts this season and has the same stats against UO, then goes 8 for 11 against NWST for 93 yards and a TD. Lee comes in the 2nd half and goes 9 for 10 for 133 yards and a TD.

Who would be calling for Lee to start because of the experience edge and how good he threw against NWST?

It would be interesting, because the easy answer is EVERYBODY would be calling for Lee based on box scores. But all in all those stats and performaces are not that bad considering our style of play and field position in these games.

I agree ... if Mett got out there, started thowing picks, and making mental mistakes .. the fan base would get down on him. Same story, just different player. Sure, there'd be the tech guys who would still favor his potential, but the FANS want W's ... most of us would not know QB mechanics if it kicked us in the butt ... but we damn sure no what an int is.

THAT is EXACTLY what I don't want to see happen. We all KNOW Mett is going to be something special. But .. "me being a cook" .. any recipe taken off the fire too early ... no matter how good, will not live up to its potential.
