Hello Fellow Tiger Fans, I am new to posting on the forum, but I've been reading for a while now. Has anyone noticed how, according to Patrick's blog, the football team has been doing a lot of eating and 'relaxing'? It just seems like most of his blogs say that there was a short practice followed by team meetings. And, then, it ends with them eating the fattiest of all foods. Maybe it's just me being paranoid, but I know that a lot of people feel that a big part of OSU's problem last year against Florida was that they were out of shape...and not ready. I am hear in Georgia Bulldog country, and I've been tauting my beloved Tigers all season (I've even put up a big Geaux Tigers poster in front of my cube for ALL to see). The last thing I want to do is have to eat UGA crow because LSU's eaten too many bbq ribs. I'm just wondering if anyone else has been thinking similarly.
Well, at least you are not "VERY CONCERNED" like the other thread on this forum. Sure are alot of concerns around here. I am concerned that my flight will be delayed and I have to start drinking at the airport.:nope: Our boys are mostly from LA, they dont know how to eat healthy. I am sure Miles will have them ready, just have faith. If that does not work, have a drink.
I guess you guys are right. It's me being paranoid.... I will definitely have my drink in hand monday night. I will need something to calm my nerves! LSU has had me watching the end of games with one eye closed all season....don't know if I can take that type of pressure monday night sober!:hihi: Q
I'm sure that a lot of thought went into these kinds of pratices. Do you beat the hell out of the team, then let them relax a good bit or do you have medium hard pratices all week without breaks? Who knows... I'm sure team doctors, coaches, and the players all weighed in on this issue.
It's normal "before-game-butterflies"... one thing to keep in mind though... In '03 most (or many) of us had never seen LSU in a championship game in our lifetime, so we didn't know how to act "like we've been there"....Same with the team. This time, it's a different ball game. LSU's been there before (recently, at that), they know what to do to prepare.... All that's left now is to play the game and execute.
As always I'm concerned. We have seen LSU lose games they shouldn't have lost this year and some games that were closer than they should've been. So I'm concerned. I don't buy the SEC speed thing. I think at the skill positions the speeds are negligble therefore, whoever is ready to play and who prepares the best. Point is that the team that is ready to play, is prepared the best will win the game. We saw UM beat UF, and I would've never thought that would've happened. With the habit that LSU has of coming out slow and Flynn being inconsistent at starts and the way our defense has been exposed by both a pure passing team and a pure running team. I'm worried. I think we do have a little bit better talent but that doesn't mean victories. Coaching and attitude in conjunction with talent wins games. I didn't expect OU, UF, or Vtech to lose but the team that was better prepared, coached, and whichever players were ready to play. I think our guys will be ready and well prepared but OSU has a lot of motivation to play hard. LSU can't start out slow and that is what worries me because they always start out slow on offense.
I am also concerned about the power and size of their O line and run oriented game. Their goal obviously would be to wear the D line out. I would like to know which team the Tigers have faced that have similar O line, and how did they handle them. I know size is not all, it also is dependant on the skills of the O linemen. How would any team handle an offense like this?
