Man, I am never one to bash players, it just won't happen from me. But IMO the coaches are free game since the lowest paid coach on the staff makes 5 times the avg income of the state.

As much as I have tried to shrug this one off I can't.

Saturday can't get here soon enough. A big win and a good performance is just what the doctor ordered to at least give me hope we can play with UF.

Get a grip on reality, will ya'. Many of us sat through EIGHT LOSING SEASONS in the 1990's. This is nothing. It was an overtime loss to a top-10 team, for heavens sakes. Nick really spoiled the children around here. I ain't losing my swagger this damn early or easy.

The season is short and LSU has played two ranked teams in its only two games, not a string of cupcakes (like Georgia, Bama, Auburn, etc.). All while undergoing trying personal circumstances and breaking in a new defense. We lost one to Florida in 2003 and still won the National Championship. This team is posting 8 or 9 wins and going to a major bowl game.

LSU must play five (or six) ranked teams this year and will probably lose a couple. I picked LSU for 9-2 this year. If LSU finishes 7-4, THEN I'll grumble about the coach.

No arguement there. We are all spoiled now.

But it may be just me living in the present, but in the 90's and those 10 losing seasons we went through, Did we ever have this much talent, and potential????

Maybe I'm wrong but I don't think so.

I hear you Red but I would feel much better if just one phase of the team was operating smoothly. Does Russell inspire confidence that he can keep us in the game vs Auburn, Florida, or Bama. Does the defense look any better. Even the return teams have reverted back to the stupid penalties that were the norm when DD was returning punts and Heyward was the Special Teams Coach. I think we have had more block in the back penalties in two games than we did in the seasons that Dooley was coaching special teams. Punting and kicking seem to have imporved if we are desperate for a positive.

The sky still isn't falling IMO. Zero cupcake teams to work out kinks, and the talent that we have is POTENTIAL talent. Only a few of the players have shown bona fide talent. The rest simply have great potential, and I just hope they realize that potential.

I agree w/ Red 100%. It's too early to be too down.
