Duck fans, you were some great fans on this forum, alot of fun, you came and brought intelligent debates and I really enjoyed chatting with you. I hope some of you stick around all year and years to come! BUT NOW THIS: For some of you, can you finally get over yourself about this; speed, blur, 8 seconds per snap, nobody can run with us, nobody can hang with us, PLEASE????? Humble up a bit! I saw James get walked down in the backfield by a defensive end, who we told you was just fast. How many times did we try and tell you gys about the speed LSU HAS!! About the strength in the trenches, about the fact that we were going to run the ball down your throat. Ducks, dont get discouraged, you just got beat by a GREAT FOOTBALL team and one that may be hoisting the crystal come January! You Ducks have a tremendous football team, a great program and you are only getting better. You are now among the elite, and you need to use this experience, along with the Auburn game to humble up a bit. There are too many great teams out there for you guys to go around with an attitude that nobody can be as fast, as conditioned, as prepared as your ducks. Because it isnt just LSU, and I hope you noticed that most of us on this forum, are not like that, we respect our competition, and dont run around saying we are un-stopable and un-beatable because our athletes are just better. Great Game, good luck the rest of the way.
Right on. Bigger, stronger, and just as fast beats fast every time. Agree, the posters were by and large good natured and certainly enduring. A little pompous, too, but that probably is just a reflection of the passion for their team - which, in a way, was good to see and hear.
When Oregon scores 60 next week and with 650 yards of offense, our fans will appreciate our defensive effort that much more, if that's even possible. The Oregon offense is the real deal. The LSU defense is the truth. It trumps all.
They just weren't prepared, mentally. Isn't that what you said would be the case if LSU got 40 hung on us? Good call btw. :yelwink2:
We weren't ready, I think we're able to give you guys a better game. I'd love to play LSU again, but now, the Duck's road to New Orleans is very difficult, maybe impossible.
I really want to echo the comments about most Ducks fans here and at the game yesterday... very classy bunch. Enjoyed talking with many of them. The ones I talked to after the game told me they had ran into a defense much different from anything they had faced. They marveled about how things that 'always worked' for the Ducks did not against us. The Ducks are a good football team for most conferences and clearly the class of the PAC. Their hurry up spread offense definitely will continue to give mediocre defenses trouble and win them lots of games. But there is no reason to think that it will allow them to actually win a game against a top program. They will have to change and reload to do so. The fans who brazenly came on here predicting a lopsided victory must really be examining their knowledge of football today.
This thread should have been dedicated to laduckfan. That man (or possibly kid) drove me crazy all summer long. He was only on the forum for three months when his post count succeeded mine. He talked way to much smack. I'm still waiting on him to post something. Eating crow separates the men from the boys. The men come back and take it like a man. The boys usually don't.
