SW Ark, NE Tx, and SE Ok are paying attention to these latest forecasts. I thought the 4am forecast might have been an anomaly, but the 10am shows the same thing. They aren't projecting that the storm will pass thru; they are projecting that it's coming for an extended visit. You might not get the really high winds, but 20+ inches (just a guess on my part) of rain is a problem. The 3 day and 5 day forecast have the storm remaining in the same spot. I hope this is a mistake, but I saw a computer model (I don't know where) that actually had Rita turning around, so it may not be wrong. I think the images below will update over time.
The 135 is GREAT though! It really is... the more this weakens in the next 3-4 hours the better, because as it gets to the shallow water a couple of hours before landfall, it will continue to weaken further, So if this is 135 or so later tonight, we may see only 110 or so at landfall, which would be great, and a minor miracle
