I was "Gary from Denham Springs", and before I was cut off, I basically got my point across...

He's predicted that LSU will lose to Auburn...

Knowing Jason Campbell has never won a big game in his entire career at AU (Which I brought up to him on the air, and he admitted).

Knowing that Auburn has replaced their entire front seven, with Karlos Dansby, Dontarrious Thomas, DeMarco McNeil, & Reggie Torbor all gone this year. All gone. I didn't get a chance to bring this up, but Hanagriff would have to admit that they're as much of a question mark as we are at this point.

Beyond that, compare the ULM scores for AU from this year to last. 70+ to 3 last year, and 31-0 this year. Their offense is only half as good now? Hmm...

He also brought up that Boise State hung a huge amount of points on Oregon State, proving that they're not good, proving that we struggled with a poor team or something to that effect.

I brought up that Boise State was pumped for this game. I did not bring up that Boise State has the nation's longest winning streak at home. I did bring up that Boise State had one stolen from them last year in Corvallis, and they were really p!ssed about it.

Bottom line, Auburn hasn't proven anything to us, nor has Hanagriff seen that team enough to judge by two of our performances-one of which was admittedly sub-par -and none of theirs whether LSU emerge from Jordan Hare Stadium victorious.

    Give me a BREAK, Hanagriff!

I respect the guy, but how can he make such a bold prediction like this PRIOR to this week's game? What does he base this on?

Sure we have big question marks on our offense, but to automatically discount us like that? You bring up great points about the questions about Auburn's 2004 team.

Saban is going to go into this game knowing full well that everyone is going to expect Auburn to beat us. He'll use this as fuel to drive his point to his tigers.

Only time will tell what next Saturday brings. All I know is that whether someone predicts a win or loss for us, I'll be there at Jordan-Hare wearing my purple and gold football jersey.

If I'd have hit my numbers last month, I'd be making the drive with you...Unfortunately, I'll probably take in the game on 61" here in Denham at home or with some friends on the Diversion Canal...

Either way, yell loudly for me, and let the players know that they've got a schmuck on the radio show who doesn't believe in them, but we DO!

People said that Hanigriff was crazy when he predicted LSu to win the NC last year to.

You can make a good case either way for why we should win or lose next week.

Again, I'll put it to you like I put it to Hanagriff...

Throw out EVERYTHING YOU KNOW ABOUT LSU, and attempt to answer this question.

Name me one single game in his Auburn career that Jason Campbell has won an important game. One single time.

After you're done with that brain-teaser (Here's a hint. The answer is a number. Here's another hint. The number rhymes with hero.), answer this one...

What has Auburn shown you this year that makes you afraid of them? Throw OUT what you think of LSU. What have you seen of Auburn that makes you fear them?

Bottom line, you're chicken littleing here, man...BUCK UP! Get back on the wagon here...You're an LSU fan, and we're MUCH better than you're giving us credit for. Auburn has had massive losses on its front seven, and has ineptitude personified for a starting quarterback. They also have an unstable coaching staff. They also face a superior coaching staff with superior talent.

    Again...WHAT MAKES YOU AFRAID?

Our front seven has looked soft up the middle at times against two teams who are no where near the caliber of what will see against Auburn. THAT is what worries me about the game. That, and our QB situation.

Yes, I am a Tiger fan....that does not mean I have to have blinders on as to what our potential weaknesses are.

I hope I am 100% wrong and that we blow Auburn out, but when I analyze it, I see it going either way.

LSU faced 9 men in the box...it's difficult to do against anyone, much less decent competition.

I don't think that 200+ yards of rushing was being soft up the middle against Arkansas State, so I guess you must have really just meant against OSU...

Again, the field conditions and stuffing the box with run support, as well as the collapse of the passing game to start things off, coupled with wideouts who don't know to block downfield or who couldn't sustain them resulted in a lack of production at tailback and along the line of scrimmage.

I'm by no means saying that Whitworth and Wilkerson were both outplayed...But, sometimes, things happen. Sometimes, teams come out flat. Sometimes, as I said earlier this week...sh!t happens.

It's over. We're past it. The players have obviously moved past it. You guys haven't. You need to pick up on what Saban's teaching his players regarding the past. Learn from it. Correct mistakes that were made. But, leave the past in the past. Let it go. Flush it. Get it out of your system.

We're going to beat Auburn. No one said that I'm predicting a blowout, but my main point is that they have shown NO ONE HERE anything that they can say points to them pulling out a victory. No one here can comment with any certainty about how their front 7 will play against ours. Ours has proven that on a fast track and good footing, they can dominate against lesser opponents. Auburn has shown that they beat lesser opponents.

Their quarterback has been an underachiever his entire career. Our two quarterbacks? Well, one had us ONE PLAY AWAY from the SECCG in '02 against Arkansas, and the other is fresh out of high school but with limitless potential.

Bottom line, it's not that I'm not objective, it's just that you people are pessimistic for NO REASON!

I had no problem with it. I don't want him picking us to win every game. He gave his explanation and it made sense to me. As he said he is picking us to beat Georgia, so it's not like he doesn't think we are good. He also said we very well might win, but he doesn't see it.

I really think his may concern is this. Our QB play is a question mark. With bad QB play we are not going to win this game. With Marcus Randall, you don't really know what you are getting. It could be Auburn 2002, or he could give you a good perfomance. Russell has looked good thus far, who knows what he looks like in his first SEC road game in a very hostile environment with the pressure of playing in his home state. Also Auburn has the revenge factor. Personally, I think if we have a decent passing game and our defense shows up we win, but Hanagriff's opinion was totally valid.

You're right. He hasn't seen enough of either team to know for sure. That's why it's called a prediction. And as he said, he didn't even want to say it, but it got brought up in the pregame show. It's not like he came out and said, let me tell you this LSU has no chance against Auburn just out of the clear blue.

I just wanted to add this which I thought was his best arguement. He doesn't like the situation. LSU is going into a road game with a question at QB. On top of that we have extremely shaky special teams right now. Poor punting and potentially a struggling offense presents the problem of giving Auburn a short field, and eventually our defense won't be able to keep stopping them on a short field. Plus our punting problems mean our coverage teams can't always get down their in time and they could return one. Somewhere, he thinks they are gonna break through. Sure, our offense could be fine and Jackson could come out and play to his ability, but Hanagriff could be totally right. IMO we HAVE seen enough to say this could be a problem.
