You've got a control freak coach w/ a dominant personality, and you pair him up w/ a billionaire who has less class than Steinbrenner and a belief (correct, obviously) that he can buy anything he wants...that's a volatile mix. Not exactly a match made in Heaven. This was a bad choice for Saban. I give this pairing 3 years, tops, successful or not, before the rose is off the bloom.
Winning cures everything, if Saban wins he and Huezenga(sp) will be swapping spit like a couple of young lovers, if he can not turn things around he will be shown the door just like every other NFL want to be.
High-Zinger has been a pretty hands off NFL owner. As much as I now despise this garbage man for what he did to LSU, this is a match made in heavan for Nick. I dont see any clashes whatsoever unless Saban cant turn it around. If he doesnt he will be fired just like every other NFL coach who doesnt get the job done but I dont see this situation as being volatile but ya know what? I could care less.
I am not sure I would put WH even in the same statement as Steinbrenner. George Steinbrenner has full control of his team basically while WH is a complete hands off owner.
Disagree with Gman here, The Dolphins have one of the best defenses in the NFL. This team could very well be the Chargers of next year, this team is a sleeping giant that needs some guidance. The Dolphins will be very good next year, just a QB and RB from being a playoff contender year after year. Winning is the key here, they will win next year!
Right on the mark on this one. Zinger about the most hands off owner in the NFL, in fact. That's why Saban had to take this job. It was his best chance at having this much control of an NFL organization.
