We should schedule Nebraska... They will be a little better next season and a home/away could help our SOS next season. Plus we should still be able to pummel them, and they are one of the traditional powers which looks good in the media.
The pummeling part is a definite. And their record should be better than 5-6 next year. So I am all for it. We can do home and away with them.
With our schedule in 2005 we will have a serious chance at another (maybe undefeated) national title. That won't work.. While I was leaving the Superdome after the 1987 (?) Sugar Bowl I reached an agreement with Nebraska fans that we'll admit they're better if they agree to never play us again.
If LSU gets Louisville, e.g., we will have a top 10 SOS next year. So if this team goes undefeated, which is definitely possible, we are guaranteed a lot of #1s in the computer polls.
With Arizona State & North Texas already on tap, I'd put my money on LSU scheduling one of the LA patsies. It's either Tulane or ULL's chance for another arse whipping. Marc
It matters, but there's not as much emphasis on it in the BCS formula as in previous years. This is called the "USC Rule". And SOS definately matters to the voters.
