I think we are setting ourselves up for a big fall with Notre Dame.

LSU has the superior athletes. We've seen the results of ND having to play against better athletes. It wasn't pretty. I am not worried about ND ... I'm only worried about LSU.

If we play really well, it'll be a 4 TD blow out.

If we play decent, it'll be a 10 point win.

If we play so-so, it'll be a tight game and a toss up.

If we play poorly, it'll be a long drive back to BR.

If "if" was a skiff, we could go for a boat ride too.

I will always believe in our beloved Tigers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

LSU is and should be a favorite here. ND has had major problems when facing an offense with quick receivers. LSU has 3 damn good WRs. LSU has a very strong and fast D, which should match well with ND. LSU is also very physical, which appears to throw ND off their gameplan.

Add all that up and it is LSU to beat itself here. Now then, throw out the obvious stats and tangibles here. ND is sick of hearing how they arent an elite program. They dont belong with the big boys. They shouldnt be in a BCS game. All that good stuff. ND will come well prepared and ready to play. We will see the best ND has to offer. Remember, against Michigan and USC there was only 1 week to prepare. ND has over a month of preparation specifically for LSU.

I think LSU will and should win this game. Fact is though, Im not looking at it at all as a given. Like I said ND has the time and motivation going into this game. Lets not forget that in some of its bigger games LSU has been more turnover prone. Which against an offense as high powered as ND you cant keep giving them exra oppertunities. Also, Michigan and USC are more aggressive in their play calling than LSU. I think this game will show a lot about Miles and Fisher. How do they plan to attack ND?

The way I see it is that both teams will be ready to play some football. We'll be juiced and they'll be playing pissed off because they basically are playing for the last shred of national respect that they still cling to (I'm talking about this season, not beating good teams, getting blown out, overrated). They'll be pissed.

Now if LSU puts the moves on them early, strikes fast and with surprising ease, you will what fire they did have get snuffed out fast. If we score, say two unanswered TDs in the first quarter, preferably early in the first, I think they'll roll over and give in to their "overrated" label. Sounds harsh to say about a team with a senior heisman candidate QB and Super Bowl coach but reality would hit them too fast to matter.

Although we're a good 2nd half team, my biggest worry is losing like a 10 point lead real fast in the 4th due to some mistake and all of the sudden you have an ND team that can see the light at the end of the tunnel if they just hold on for one or two more drives.

I know this season we've been deferring on kickoffs but this is a game where I might like to see us choose to receive if we get the choice. Taking them out early and then just business as usual for the rest of the way.

I have not heard many say it won't at least be a game. But, Weiss has had the media love from the beginning. He may eventually do really well as head coach. I'm not willing to say that Miles, even though he stammers when addressing the media, won't outcoach Weis. I am with SabanFan. Where was all this coaching in the big games?..haven't seen it.:dis:

Exactly my point for the Sugar Bowl this year... LSU has a history of coming out very strong and then fizzing out. We did it with Tennessess, last year... Auburn this year, and many other games in recent past.
Like I said, LSU is their own worst enemy.
Depending on which LSU shows up... will prove how this Boiwl game ends

Garbage huh? The Auburn was filled with bad officiating I agree. BUT, what did LSU put up on the scoreboard? Had LSU's offense produced those 30 points we averaged, this conversation would be taking place.
Fact is LSU has a habit of killing drives and shooting themselves in the foot when it matters... rememeber the Sugar Bowl in 2003? The fumble inside the 1?
How many drives this season did we have where LSU was moving the ball then either turned it over or penalties pushed us back. Happens all the time... hell look at the Florida game, that was classic shooting ourselves in the foot.

Oh don't mistake my criricism of LSUs shortcomings as love for the Irish. Imo ND shouldn't be playing this game, and doesn't deserve to play anyone lik LSU. I'm purple and gold to the core, and agree every game is ours to lose, but the last 3 seasons it seems every game we've lost not because of being an inferior team to the winner, but because of our own self destruction.

I think deep down LSU blows this open, but part of me says becareful because of their history.

OK. Which ones? If there were "many other games" you shouldn't have a problem recalling specific examples

It is taking place. Those 30 points were not scored partly due to the officiating. A drive was killed when Hester's 1st down catch on 4th down was ruled incomplete. Craig Davis was manhandled in the endzone and robbed of a sure TD, but no INT was called. And then there's the Early Doucet missed call

How in tarnation did this bumbling bunch of fools manage to win 10 games? A fumble inside the one 3 years ago? Hardly relevant to this team. Florida? Sure, no argument there, but what team has not had drives stopped by turnovers. Part of the game, but you act like LSU lost games due to turnovers, when in fact we lost ONE game due to errors.

We lost 4 games in 2 years. One, to Georgia, was a blowout that had nothing to do with turnovers or mistakes. Another was due to losing momentum after Tennessee caught lightning in a bottle and not being able to get it back. It still took OT to beat us. The other 2 losses were already discussed here. Dude, get over the losses. There's 21 wins in there for you to pick out a little history from. Lighten up.
