I disagree. The two best teams did play in the Sugar Bowl.

I think if Auburn could have moved up to 2nd in both polls, then we have a situation in which you can say Auburn has been screwed in much the same manner as USC claimed. Auburn being #3 in both polls is not helping their case at this point.

Yep, and there are 2 reasons for this: 1) AU was ranked lower at the beginning of the season, and 2) Some (enough) in the media want to maintain that their original vote was correct. Add that to the computers which favor the Big XII for some reason (see OK #1 after their B12CG loss last year) and we see Auburn getting left out.

OU's SOS is the best of the 3 teams, which has a lot to do with their computer rankings.

Auburn's scheduling of The Citadel was devastating to their SOS. It will end up being a difference of 9th place in the nation versus 21st (roughly). This is the difference in Auburn ending up 3rd in most computer polls versus pushing for the top spot in those same polls.

Note to anyone wanting to get to the BCS title game: DON'T SCHEDULE A DIV I-AA TEAM

LSU nearly learned that very same lesson last year.

Agree, but my point is that OK was so far ahead in the computers that everyone knew they could lose the B12CG and still get to NO. Also don't forget how high Texas was ranked having gotten blown away by OK and Ark.

As far as scheduling div 1-AA, I think it is ironic that both LSU last year and Auburn this year had to play those teams because Bowling Green backed out at the last minute. Who did Bowling Green replace Auburn with, you ask? OKLAHOMA.

What would OK's SOS be if they didn't play Bowling Green?

Then I say let's blame it on Bowling Green.

I doubt seriously OU would have been able to schedule a team with the record of Bowling Green. They might have had to settle on a team like The Citadel instead.

    Conspiracy anyone?

Than the SEC should black list Bowling Green and VT ,make sure no one in the SEC East or West schedules them for about 10 years and teams will stop
    this pulling out crap.

Yeah, black list them if there is such a thing. We even offered what OU was going to pay BG but the BG AD had ties to OU and simply wanted to play OU instead of AU...

OU's SOS is tops according to whom?.... the computers?
    The NCAA link says different:
    http://web1.ncaa.org/d1mfb/Internet/toughest%20schedule/ia_9games_cumm.pdf?ATCLID=88401&SPSID=2475&SPID=190&DB_LANG=C&DB_OEM_ID=300

    Auburn 10
    OK 22
    SC 31

Sagarin has the following: 7-4 Tex A&M at 13. What is a 7-4 team doing in the top 15?..... 6-5 OSU at #18, above both Big-10 co-champs. 6-5 teams shouldn't be in the top 30. Harvard is at #36, and New Hampshire is at #39. Would those 1AA schools could've boosted AU's SOS? ...... hell, they're ranked above Bowling Green.
    #34 – Florida
#38 – Harvard (I-AA team) .... are you freakin' kidding me?????
    #39 - UCLA
    #41 – James Madison (I-AA team)
    #65 – Alabama (#2 ranked defense in I-A football)

Its highly likely 4 SEC teams will finish ranked in the top 15, three of which AU will have beaten. With the SEC Championship, it will make 4 top 15 teams Auburn will have beaten this year.

Oklahoma has played only 1 team in the top 15 and possibly the top 25 since Texas A@M, Oklahoma St and Bowling Green all got beat last week. The SEC will have 5 teams in the top 25 the Big 12 likely may only have 2.

    Big 12 Top 5
    Oklahoma (11-0)
    Texas (10-1)
    Texas A&M (7-4)
    Texas Tech (7-4)
    Oklahoma State (7-4)

    Pac 10 Top 5
    USC (11-0)
    California (9-1)
    Arizona State (8-3)
    UCLA (6-4)
    Oregon State (6-5)

    SEC Top 5
    Auburn (11-0)
    Georgia (9-2)
    LSU (9-2)
    Tennessee (9-2)
    Florida (7-4)

I don't know about y'all, but where I come from, we start whippin' azz when things smell this fishy..............
