I'm sure the Florida forums are rampant with that.

I'm pretty sure people were talking about this last time we did this play

I remember this being a huge topic back in 07 after the SC game.

And they're talking about it again, trust me.

This time there's a twist though, it hit the ground.

Put it to you this way. They spent an eternity in the booth reviewing that call. If after all that time they still didn't get it right, then this is historic ineptitude even by SEC standards.

I just assumed the standard rules for laterals applied in this situation. No forward pass and no forward fumble, so no fumblerooski stuff was involved.

Yep.. but as long as it didn't go forward, it can be scooped up as a live ball. It couldn't have been any closer, but it didn't go forward as far as I could tell. If it would have, this board would be in a whole other state of existence.. lol

Yep! Gator forums are alive & buzzing with their rage over the 'downed place holder.' Shoot! Place holders are essentially ALWAYS down--unless the play calls for them to do otherwise!

Florida can buy a rule book & practice trick plays too. But they can't beyotch too much when one is run successfully against them.
