1. This article says no.

The United States won't bomb Iran, but another country might. - By Anne Applebaum - Slate Magazine

Interesting read. What do y'all think?
  2. I agree with the article. It seems more likely that any country that didn't like Israel in the first place would use an attack on Iran as an excuse to strike Israel. I foresee tongue lashing from our fearless leader and his minions either way.

  3. Well, you just brought up an entirely different scenario. If Israel attacked Iran and other countries attacked Israel in retaliation, I think that the U.S. would have to other choice than to come to the aide of Israel.

This article isn't talking about that scenario, though.

  4. I know, I was just opining. However the article does provide a very good point as to why two presidents from different, often opposing points on the political spectrum have done close to the same thing with Iran. I do see an attack from Israel more likely than us attacking Iran, though.

  5. Israel won't attack Iran without our blessing, IMO.

  6. Though I like Israel and have a lot of respect for them as our ally, I think it would be very short-sighted and unwise for them to openly attack Iran as well.
  7. A large disruption over there could cause Iran to cut off the Straight of Hormuz causing oil prices to sky rocket.

Our economy certainly can't handle $5.00 gasoline right now. It would be an ill advised move for Israel or the U.S. to attack Iran.........for now.
  8. Not to mention it would make nations in that part of the world favor them even less than they already do.

  9. ...and when I say $5.00 gas....that's being modest. It could go WAY higher than that should Iran cut off the Hormuz Straight.
  10. Attacking Iran would be stupid for numerous reasons.
