          It's much safer being the coach of the Saints rather than the cowboys, it's much safer being the coach of the clippers rather than the lakers, why try to be the best when you can be safe instead. Could you imagine any big time coach or player on any level saying it's too risky playing for championships I'd rather just be mediocre?      What in the hell is he talking about, the way Bama fans talk "the Bar" is still alive and casts one hell of a shadow. This guy sounds scared to death that Wells is gone.
Yeah Da Bear doesn't even have a pulse anymore and his "control" over Bammer's football program is obvious. The writer's message to Wells and Bianco: "Be satisfied with comfortable, don't challenge yourself" or , alternatively, "You can't handle the challenge that is the LSU head baseball coach". What a loser attitude !
The guy has some-what of a point... if you look at it as he is, where he doesn't view the LSU program as offering anything above what their respective programs can. It's not a "loser attitude" if they don't gain anything by coming to LSU. If LSU offers no competitive advantage over the program they leave, they open themselves up to risks as a coach with no reward.
No. I'm saying that the LSU baseball program may not have as many advantages over Ole Miss for winning championships as we think.
The ole miss and LSU baseball programs are much like in football where LSU has the potential ability to compete for SEC championships every year and an occasional national title and Ole myth feels like they won the Super Bowl when they finish 2nd in the SEC West. The glass ceiling is much much lower at ole miss in every sport, in no way can you even begin to compare the potential of ole miss baseball to the potential at LSU, not even close.
There are reasons why either Bianco or Wells would want to come to LSU and reasons why they would not. Bianco might want to come because of his ties to LSU. Most coaches would love to coach at their alma mater. In addition, LSU has better facilities including a new stadium soon to be built, and from a financial stand point, will be more lucrative. Wells coached at LSU under Bertman, and that could be a draw for him, in addition to the facilities and pay. But working against their coming to LSU is the fact that in both cases, a move to LSU would be considered a horizontal move rather than a vertical move, and coaches are often hesitant to do that.
