.... and was shut out of the national championship game..... How do you think LSU fans would react towards the media, specifically the pollsters? Just thinking back to last year's massive email campaigns and reading countless articles from sportswriters around the nation about emails from LSU fans. :grin:
Yeah it would be NASTY if LSU was in the same spot as AU. Personally I don't think the way LSU fans reacted to the 'split championship' last year has done anything but made LSU fans look bad. Instead of saying 'scoreboard we have the Crystal trophy and are National Champions take your AP trophy and shove it up your azz'. LSU fans insisted on calling/emailing anyone who questioned that LSU was the national champ and whining like a bunch of girls.
I just don't think that it should be called whining when a fan is upset, because they feel that their school has been slighted in some way(whether its by a bad call from the refs, or being short slighted in the polls). That is your right as a fan, and where else can we whine but on these boards. It gets boring to go on our own board and whine(there's too many of us doing the same thing), so we must journey to others to get more whining in. I am not an Auburn fan by any means, but I do feel for them this year. It is a large accomplishment to go undefeated in the SEC, and they do deserve respect for this. We may not like their coach and some of their fans(hey they don't all like ours either), but that should not take anything away from those players. I have to give them their due, because it really says something for their program when players with the talent of Williams and Brown stay for their senior year. We know that they could have been making big bucks this year in the NFL, and they chose to stay and help their team. All schools need such loyalty. I am not saying that I wanted Auburn to play for a championship(does any Bama fan say that?), but I have to admit that they deserved the chance to go for it. I really think that all the teams in the SEC should be like a family. By this I mean that we can talk trash about each other, but other schools and other conferences had better not try. Maybe if we were a united conference, and our coaches supported the efforts of each team, then another SEC school won't ever be left out of the championship again if they deserve to go.
I agree. I think there is a difference between whining and complaining. I think every fan has the right to do both. Whining is just freaking annoying as all hell. I think anyone who listens to local sports radio in any town at some point or another has wanted to grab a caller by the throat shake them and say it's time to move on. In btr there is a radio host who will not keep his mouth shut about USC being national champs. Every time he says it some redneck will call and try to convince him to no end. At some point you just have to let things die.
If that happened, who do you think would be the first one's here point out how screwed we were and laugh at us? The freakin' War Chickens. This is just a preemptive strike in case that ever happens.
Ain't that the truth. Then again I found humor in the fact that they got screwed this year. I am upset that Tubby is taking it well though. I was hoping he'd make an ass of himself so I could hate him more.
I don't get it, do those two statements contradict each other I'm running on 2 hours sleep and three pots of coffee so bear with me. :grin: :grin:
