LSU should court Norm Chow, just think about what he could do with the likes of Matt Flynn, JaMarcus Russell, even Perriloux if he hasn't been scared away by the rumor mill and Saban's actions today.

I agree.. i would go after chow.. i think if chow came in with his offensive/qb coaching skills and he kept muschamp around, LSU could be even better. Yes, better than with nick saban, at least on the field. THe offense would take a huge step up, while the defense, for the time beign at least, would take only a small step down. the big question would be how chow or any other person who would come in recruits, because saban is the recruiting master.

B/C we actually want to win the SEC and a Nat'l championship... not finish no higher than second every year.

I can picture it now, a t-shirt with Norms picture on the front and under it "Chinese Bandit" ;)

It goes without saying that I don't want to lose Saban--but what I want doesn't mean much in the grand scheme of things....BUT, the actions from the past few days demand that we have a short list of coaches ready to act fast on.

My own personal coaching list and reasons would be as follows:

    1. Norm Chow -- F-USC that's why! ;) Seriously though, he's an offensive guru and with the raw talent at our skill positions, the sky's the limit.

    2. Butch Davis -- He rebuilt Miami into a national power. He should have no trouble keeping our ship in the right direction. He can recruit like no other.

    3. Tedford -- Don't know if he's already inked an extension at Cal, and if so, don't know the fineprint on if it's easy out). He's young, recruited some pretty impressive tallent and his biggest "beef" with Cal is their lack of support for improved fascilities (he'd flip if shown ours)

    4. Mike Price -- No, I'm not off my rocker. The man made a huge mistake at 'Bama. Don't think for one minute he plans on making another one anywhere else he goes! He brought Wash. St. on the brink of being a power and has guided UTEP....UTEP!!!! to 7-win seasons. Given the chance at another major program, he'll work extra hard.

    5. Romeo Crennell -- no this isn't a Boston-based-biased pick. Crennell has been more brains behind the Patriots defense than what people outside Boston realize--which, for those that have been under a rock the past few seasons, is the same defense that Saban runs here. Crennel wants a head coaching job--just like Charlie Weis, and when it's clear that they're not beating down his door in the NFL, he's probably just as eager to take a college job just like Weis.

    6. Jimbo Fisher and Bill Muschamp -- Both have already been mentioned for head coaching jobs in the past. Both would love to be a head coach here. And IMO, if we were to lose Nick to the NFL, I SURELY don't want to lose any more of our coaches--who OBVIOUSLY play a HUGE part in our great recruiting classes and in our game planning).

    7. Terry Robinskie -- The BCA will be thrilled. He's an LSU alum (making it more likely that he'll remain committed to staying at LSU). Since he's been a career NFL coach (and 2 stents as an intrim head coach), he obviously has some talents. I would just like to hear what he has to offer.

    That's my "short list". :geaux:

    STAY SABAN STAY!!!!
