No.. its not LSU, but if you are bored tomorrow.. come watch ULL play North Texas in Lafayette.. will be an ESPN2 game.. could use the extra fans.. though we were only 5k short of capacity for the last homegame.. 25k.. heh.. game is at 9pm.. should be a shootout.. its not SEC quality, but ULL has an exciting MR type qb and North Texas has a very strong O as well..

North Texas rolls in this game. ULL will not be able to stop the ground game of the Mean Green. I'll cheer for Tech, but ULL I have problems with. Sorry loco.

When I saw the title of this thread I got excited.

Then I read the content. :(

Any chance UL will ever take that conference and make it to that glorious N.O. Bowl?

I know nothing about UL football by the way. :thumb:

its USL and always will be. too bad they don't play troy st...no not troy.

USL is vastly improved offensively. qb Babb is their leading rusher and a good playmaker. he will probably have a ton of yards and make this game close at first with advantage at home but it will be hard to stop N Texas. Mean Green may rush for 300 yards before its over.

    30-20 N Texas.

ULL plays Troy on November 13th @ ULL. I'm in Lafayette and will be watching the NTX game from the comfort of my own living room. Going to try and a new tailgate recipe this evening. "W"

If USL wins they'll have another goalpost to put next to the one from the 98 Texas A&M game. :dis:

I'm from Lafayette and always tried to root for USL but it was hard at times because of their "little man" envy. Still, I hope they do well and win their conference. I went to their game (Middle Tenn St.?) the night of the LSU-Miss St. game (only time I've attended two Div-1 games in one day) and had a great time. Sat in the grass on one of the endzones and all of the kids were going crazy with their little battle royale rumble. Game even turned out to be exciting.

Anyway, I didn't have a problem with them tearing down the goalposts after beating A&M. I've been to about 20 USL games over the years (although only 3 in the past 10) and that was a once in a lifetime type game for a program like USL. Delhomme on one leg, a big (relative terms) crowd, the hated Aggies, etc. Now if they try and tear down the goalposts for the North Texas game, that's a different story.

Tearing down the goalposts is one thing. Using it to erect a permanent monument at the entrance to the stadium is another thing entirely. They also used to have a plaque honoring Yvette Girouard who built their softball team from scratch to a national power. When she took the LSU job, they removed the plaque. That, my friend is the epitome (one of Yvette's favorite words) of "bush league".
