I totally agree on the QB issue. OL is being addressed as we speak, and has been to a degree. But there were certainly issues there. I give a pass because it's clear that was realized and addressed. But I don't think Les can be accused of overloading with 5 stars for the sake of 5 stars. Les has taken a lot of chances on guys he thought had some potential that nobody else was really on. Mathieu? ETA*** It helps that there's a huge OL recruit in state this year, but nonetheless, he's committed to LSU.
If my son were the number one rated 5 star quarterback in the country and I lived across the street from LSU’s campus I would not let him play for LSU unless they fired Less Miles. Hell, I wouldn’t blame Mettenberger for not signing to play for LSU because if he does it more than likely will ruin his professional career.
Yeah...Miles is the one developing/destroying the QBs. :rolleye33: I agree I wouldn't be too happy about my son learning under Crowton if he were a QB. But if it was his dream to play for LSU, and LSU offered him an opportunity to see his dream to fruition, I would be happy for him and support him all the way. And as far as Mettenberger goes, he's the only one responsible for ruining his career, and he'll be lucky to play in P&G if he's given the second chance.
Uhm…you just said: I agree with the latter far more than I agree with the former. In other words, we are still getting recruits despite Less Miles because of the facilities and the tradition. I mean if you grew up wanting to play for LSU its hard not to when given the opportunity. However, if Less Miles stays at LSU for another 5 more years, recruits will start avoiding LSU like the plague, because not even the facilities and tradition will be able over come Less Miles’ incompetence and save us. Hence, just like we have been winning despite the coaching staff, we have been getting great recruits despite the coaching staff, but it won’t continue forever. We are already pushing our luck the past couple of years as it is.
Then why is he letting GC destroy their careers? :rolleye33: I would advise my son to play somewhere else because if he plays for Miles and Crowton his career will inevitably be ruined. I’m sorry but one should never use emotions to make business decisions. As for as I’m concerned, Mettenberger is crazy to play for LSU unless he has it in writing that Miles will fire Crowton at the end of the season if he signs.
