I dont get it, if I dont think miles is the greatest thing to ever happen to the state of louisiana, im labeled a "miles hater". Anytime anyone is critical of a decision he makes, or points out that something was a bad call/bad coaching... these guys that feel like it's their duty show up and call you a "bad LSU fan" Take off your homer glasses and realize that even the great les miles makes mistakes too.
and please realize that when we criticize the coaching staff, its not that we're trying to say FIRE HIM, AND BURN HIM AT THE STAKES. Instead, we're trying to discuss stuff about OUR team (yes OUR team) that we like and dont like and what we believe could be better about it.
I think what the both of you got wrong with my other post is that I'm not, by any means, saying that our team is perfect as it is. My attack on "Miles bashers" were those that simply have said that he sucks, or he's horrible, and never gave any reasons for it other than simply, "because I just don't like him". It WAS those that scream "FIRE HIM, AND BURN HIM AT THE STAKES" that I was directing my rant towards. If there is rational discussion about penalties, dropped passes, etc., then that's great! You're right, we all need to understand that no game is perfect.... but some of the hard-core Miles bashers fail to see that even Saban-coached teams weren't "perfect" and that no team is "perfect". But don't sit there and say "Miles sucks because I said so" and not give concrete evidence (rational discussion) to support it.
I don't think many people are licking his nuts as of yet.....I still think many are holding reservation.....its been too many close games and we are very fortunate to be in the position we are in....but give him credit, we're there! An SEC Championship and I think 99 percent will be on board. Call it what you want, but it is what it is. I just think a lot of people are still bothered we lost the best college football coach to the Miami Dolphins...and just don't want to commit just yet. It's like Tirk so eloquently puts it, it's the "catastrophe syndrome" (he used that to describe Astros fans during the playoffs). You must remember before Saban we had 3 jacklegs coaching this team.
I think he gets blamed too much for the offensive play-calling. Jimbeaux is really the one controlling the play-calling. We are 8-1, be happy people. Celebrate this victory. It is a great thing to strive for perfection but we need to be realistic also. Everything won't always be perfect. But right now savor the victory.
i didnt have one problem with the playcalling nor do I have a problem for letting chris kick the fgs. Chris is clutch but had a bad game. so what, he is allowed a free pass considering he kicked a couple 50+ in one game to win one and many more for us before. not to mention his punting is stellar, his bat handling is excellent and he plays a nice 3rd base. the reason LSU won this game was because of the playcalling. they knew this was a hard fought battle and making a mistake ends all hope. we played mistake free ball in the turnover dept. and played field position. Crucial in this game and it paid off.
