Football is coming, Football is coming! It's easy to fall in line with the preseason hype. I hear about the QB questions, etc. For me the biggest question is Bo Pellini. How does he fit our personnel to his scheme or vice versa? What kind of defense will we have? The last few years we played a lot of 1 on 1 corerbacks due to talent & invaluable instruction. This allowed more blitzing, & pressure up front as well as more personnel to stop the run. I've heard that Pellini is good & agrressive, but what exacrtly are his schemes?
bo's defenses have been really good at nebraska and ou. i don't remember another team that won the national title that did as much 1 on 1 as lsu did, it wasn't just because of the corners but also because of the pressure the d-line and linebackers put on the o. with the players lsu has on the d-line and backer grew they will put a lot of pressure on the qb and should handle the run really well, the d-backs should only have to play good and not great to be affective.

Pelleni (SP) has some proving to do. In my opinion the OU defense was not impressive after Stoops' brother left. The opening game should not test our defense so we may not see what he has until game 3. That's fine as the improvement and bugs should be tapering off by then.
From what I've read and heard, Nick's defensive schemes and alignments were extremely complicated. I doubt that Bo's will be as complex. There are many factors and variables that enter into a successfull defense. Athletes, expereience, field position, score, etc. With the defensive athletes we have returning this year I think we will be fine.
I really got excited and anxious for football to start when I read the Les Miles quotes from the SEC press conference!!
