These last 2 weeks starting with the preliminary meeting coming to a crecendo on what just happened has been the most dissapointing time in my love for LSU....

Not because we lost to Iowa, LSU was poorly coached, Matt Flynn ????
Iown gave it everything... Congrats to Iowa....

But to be so high, to so low to be so high again just to have your heart torn from your chest.

It has been a hard 2 weeks being an LSU football fan.

i agree, i think i need to take a break from LSU for like 2 weeks. My heart can't take it anymore. Les Miles being the leading canidate is killing me anymore. There is only one person to blame. NICK SABAN.

Here's my take on the Bowl Game:

I've never been more proud of a group of LSU football players. How in the world can you expect such young men to overcome that mountain of adversity that has descended on LSU since 14 Dec 04? And yet, they DID overcome, and they came within a hair's breadth of winning the game.

Thank you, 2004 LSU Tiger football players.

And if it is true Les Miles is our next coach... That will be the nail in the ole coffin.

Good lord. Les Miles ??? How far have we fallen...

I am not taking anything away from our Tigers ON the field. I will always tip my hat to them. But how we lost, our coach quit on us, now talk of Les Miles we went from National Champions to this in 12 months....

    True.

I watched the first half in a sports bar, and when Jerry Punch identified Les Miles as "the leading candidate", all I could do was shake my head.

The last time I felt this down about LSU football was early in Saban's first season, probably right after the UAB game.

    Oh, I agree.

The people who contributed the most to my "down" attitude today---Nick Saban's distractions, the "search committee" who is leaking Les Miles' name, Cory Webster for balancing his big play capability in 2003 by laying down in similar situations in 2004---will all not have an effect on what happens on the field come kickoff 2005.

For that, I surely can be thankful!

If we can only wish Mark Emmert was still at LSU b/c he would of never accepted Miles as our next coach. This should make for an intersting offseason. Welcome back the days before Saban.

I've always believed that Saban should have just waited until after the season was over. IMO, he shouldn't have even dealt with any other gigs until the season was over. There still would have been "speculation," but there has been speculation like this for the last 3 or 4 years, but it didn't stop us before. I am not blaming the loss on Saban's departure. After all, the defense was blown on that last play. Don't yet know if it was poor coaching or if the players were confused. We'll find out later. Right now, I suspect it was coaching. :dis:
