  1. Guys, I realize that I am relatively new to this board, but I think someone should step up and say something. Seems like everytime I turn around, there is another argument about he said, she said blah, blah, blah. Just drop it. We have an awesome forum that alot of other school come to in order to talk serious football. We have a great collection of LSU fans, as well as assorted other schools and should not be acting like we are all in highschool. Who cares about Rep points, whether you have 6 or 10 or -4. They mean nothing other than posters have enjoyed reading what you wrote. As far as more rep points giving anyone more knowledge within the board, that is also hogwash. I disagree with some 6 rep pointers (SabanFan, Islstl) yet hold no ill will, we just have two different personalities and we would probably agree that when we do clash, it is rather childish. Then again I get along with some posters with red rep points, which leads me to "who gives a sh!t about rep points". Also, I have seen the Forum divided on the issue of OU, USC, AU and the Orange Bowl. Who cares, we are probably going to the Cap One, which is great, don't let Auburn ruin our fun. Things will work out how they work out, and if you choose to share your opinion of how you think they should, then feel free, but don't damn someone else for their opinion. If we all treated each other with civility this would be the best LSU board hands down. As it goes now, i feel like I'm in the highschool lunch room with clicks all around me. I just think that starting tommorow, everyone should start over again and learn to accept each other because whether or not we like it - WE ARE ALL TIGER FAITHFUL, and all wish the same accomplishments on this fine institution and all who have walked under its oaks and arches. So in closing (and not to look to much like a TigerEducated post :thumb: j/k), I think we should turn over a new leaf on this forum and rather than bash we should embrace, and maybe we will enjoy our time here that much more.

  2. It's all part of the fun. When this turns into a big ole circle jerk with everyone holding hands and singing Kumbaya, I'm outta here.
  3.
I'm with you on that SabanFan.......... :thumb:
It is all in good fun, unless its Auburnt fans............
  4. Great Post, I agree. :thumb: Nice try. hate to be a doubter but...... it's too easy to flame folks from a keyboard. People type things they wouldn't ordinarily say to someone's face. sad but true. I've been guilty of it, but i try to remind myself from time to time, Would I have said that outloud in public? If you cant say it to their face, chances are it's inappropriate.

I know you dont care about rep points  BUT I'd give you rep points for this post, BUT it says I've given you too many lately. keep your chin up. cya.
  5. Brett doesn't handicap us with a lot of heavy-handed censorship on this board and you have to be a total tool to get banned. Some folks exploit that and go way over the line with insults and name calling. The moderators delete many posts and entire threads that most never see.

But banter on the boards is part of the fun and people shouldn't be too thin-skinned. The Voice of Reason will not tolerate no Kumbaya and neither will the Curmudgeon. However, the JS Be Cool Rule #1 -- If you wouldn't say it to someones face, it's not appropriate -- should be adopted by us all. There are a lot of keyboard weenies that would get their butts kicked real fast if they popped off like that in a barroom conversation.

And after all, the board has many imposters and kids just looking for kicks. Think Bart Simpson. Anybody who gets angry and upset at characters on an anonymous forum needs serious help.
  6. Nice post KTeamLSU...

Now I get to add peacemaker to my list:

Amongst others, TF now has all of the following as members: a prohibitionist, a pervert, a redneck, an atheist, an old folks home resident, and a peacemaker!

Seriously though, people here are opinionated and that makes for interesting and lively discussions. Most of the people that have been here have been around for quite some time now and a lot of what you may see as arguing is all just tongue-in-cheek banter amongst fellow tiger fans. It is usually good-spirited. (ain't dat rite nek? i kno yoo reedin dis)

Now when members go off on the aubie Proud Tiger for being two-faced, that's a different story!

  7. A new leaf ? For those of us in Louisiana, as you know, the leaves haven't even fallen off of the trees yet ! Hear what you are saying. This is a forum and I like to hear both sides of an issue but some of the shots taken at one another are needless. Overall, I LOVE THIS PLACE !
  8. Well said, old man. I've never let anyone rally make me angry here, but some have been so stupid that my low tolerance for such things causes me to go off. Most of the time, the madder someone seems to be getting, the more I try and yank his chain. Then I wait around for the reaction. :D
  9. This is a weird fall, the leaves are just beginning to turn colors and fall here in Georgia, a full 3 weeks later than usual.

And I gree with the thought that everyone should be civil but then again many think that if you have a difference of opinion with someone that you aren't being civil. all I can say is don't read the infighting if it bothers you, this board is like a group of young friends. They fight and bicker everyday but come back the next day and hang out again. Every once in a while one leaves but is replaced soon my a new guy.
  10. It's not that Im trying to tell people not to keep up the ole' fashion banter amongst fans, but lemme say it this way. My sophmore year before one of LSU's home games, I saw a guy that I hated and we started having words. That spiraled into a fight and an older lady came over and yelled, stop acting like a bunch of Auburn fans.... you're both on the same team. Thats all Im trying to say.
