In 69 Bear Bryant tentatively accepted the job to coach the Miami Dolphins. Bear speaks to the Alabama President and he's told if you find me a suitable replacement, I'll let you go. Allegedly he recommended John McKay of USC and Charlie Mac of LSU, but both refused the job.
