Is anyone else disappointed?

Maybe I'm just a negative person, but what the hell is up with our team? Our defense wasn't amazing (except at causing wide open receivers to drop balls), but it was good enough. Has anyone seen LSU's offense, because it's been missing almost all season. Flynn didn't do any better than Russell. Crap. It is hilarious to me that we are #5 right now. I have alot of respect for Appalachian St, they are one of the few opponents we've played this year that have had things together. Why is our offense so amazingly weak? Does Appalachian St have some kind of amazing defense? Why aren't we improving? I have to tell all of ya', winning against Ole Miss and Arkansas isn't a guarantee the way we are playing. All the people writing those teams off kill me. Have you been watching the same team I've been watching? I'll be awaiting the 'Bama game eagerly, but I have very little confidence in our team to play like the #5 team in the nation.

I'm under my desk cowaring like when we used to practice when I was a kid for a nuclear blast awaiting the pounding you're about to take.

Good post, from the heart. I don't think you are just negative, I see what you are talking about.

    1. We miss Alley Broussard more than we thought we would. Joe Addai is great, but Shyrone and Justin have not provided consistency when Joe goes out of the game. Joe can't pound all game by himself. Next year, our young running backs will have a prime opportunity to contribute. I wonder if we should not have played one of the freshmen?
    2. Our "best wide receivers in the nation" are human. The title was based on their high school "star" rating when being recruited. When kids get to college, some continue to develop, late bloomers, and they can pass up a super blue chipper out of high school who rests on their talent alone. Our wide receivers are good and solid, and occasionally exceptional. But they have lost their concentration, dropped balls, and they are certainly not exceptional every play.
    3. JaMarcus is a soph, and he has played like a soph, with a GREAT arm. I believe he will be better next year, and the year after. It will be interesting to see if Ryan Perrilloux can get in the mix next year.

I think the oline has been solid, as expected.

I don't believe we played to our potential in any games yet this year. I also believe as cparso pointed out that most of our hype and expectations came from unproven talent, although #1 & #3 recruiting classes. I will be the first to voice my disappointment should this much talent not make the trip to Atlanta.

Yes, I've been watching this team (well, listening to it on the radio mostly), and what I've seen is a team that is good enough to win games despite being not so perfect in its execution.

Keep in mind, the games we're winning this year are the kind of games we used to lose.

Also, I have seen Arky and Ole Wuss play this year, and, believe me, they will not beat LSU. LSU might beat LSU, but neither of those teams has enough athletes to stay within 17 points of LSU. Did you see that pathetic performance by Arkansas yesterday? As painful to watch as having a strangulated hernia.

The only thing that might save them is if Nutt gets fired on Thanksgiving
Day. I'm surprised USC didn't hang a hundred on 'em.

Arkansas played Georgia close. Ole Miss played Alabama close. The difference between LSU, Georgia, and Alabama isn't that much. The way our offense performs, no game is a guaranteed win.

With that said, I will be buying my plane tickets to Atlanta around 6 next Saturday, if we win. If you wait to see if we beat the Hogs, tickets will be through the roof.
