do you trust in les to make halftime adjustments? do you think he learned any thing by richt spanking that ass in embarrassing fashion?

imo miles is not a gameday coach maybe he will be more vocal on the sidelines this year. i also think he lacks the ability to chew out his players when they screw up.

This is not a real negative thing, but I do not think Miles is a gameday coach in terms of adjustments. I do think he let's his coordinators make some adjustments and he sticks to his role as motivator.

I was no impressed with Miles at first, but he is growing on me.

His approach is just different than what we are used to with Saban. Miles doesn't seem to be nearly as hands on, or nearly as involved in actual game-planning.

If he was, he would not need, nor be able to keep guys like Fisher and Pelini around. When you have high profile guys like that you have to give them some control.

This is not a bad thing, MIles just runs the football team more like a corporation than a small business.

CLM was coaching at every game last year. So yes, he is definitely a gameday coach.

Your logic is impeccable. So much so that it reminds me of my posts.

Many thanks for the non-QB post....:yelwink2:

I am not one of those data mining freaks with the future at the NSA so I cannot begin to tell you what his record is of halftime adjustments or comebacks and losses after a lead. However, CLM is passionate and a motivator and as long as he recruits well the program that CNS has left us is on such solid ground that with the help of a solid coaching staff LSU football should be able to put in a minimum of 8 to 9 wins a year and some moments of true, honest to God JOY for many years.

I saw the bad years so I'll take that and say thank you CNS for all you did and CLM just keep on growing into that job, baby.....:thumb: There may be a National Championship under that hat.....just maybe.

    :helmet:

To directly answer the question........"No, not at this time."

Did Bear Bryant coach just like Nick Saban? NO, not from what I've read, certainly not the last 20 years of his career. There is more than one path to success. Les may be more hands off than Nick, but he may have a more mature DC than Nick had. Nick may have wanted to run the defense, and wanted a younger coach who would let him.

Les does not do it just like Nick. That does not make him less of a head coach than Nick, just a different type of head coach. He may be more like Bear than Nick. Many styles can be successful, if you understand your strengths and weaknesses, play to your strengths, and manage to your weak spots by having others cover that area.

If you want to bash Les, I think you are barking up the wrong tree. You could bash him if you only looked at a few shortcomings and choose to ignore all the positives, in which case I would term that "Les bashing" as unbalanced and unwarranted. Les did great last year, and no, he is not perfect. Nick was not perfect either. How did they let a receiver get open on the last play of the Cap One bowl, which was the only way we could lose the game???

The jury on Les is still out IMO. He's off to a GREAT start, 11-2 with a great bowl win over a solid Miami team is strong, period. He has shown great compassion for our community and for our troops, and his team. He's likable, and I want to see him succeed. Let's see what the year brings.

    Geaux Les, and :geauxtige

Personally I thought I saw more half time adjustments under Miles than I did under Saban.
