Suppose John Deaux, a prep all-american in Florida, has a father who is a refinery worker. If he were to be offered a very good job at a refinery in Baton Rouge and accepted the job and his son then signed with LSU, would there be trouble for LSU?

Not unless a booster made direct payments to his father......

So the answer is no. His paycheck comes from the company he works for.

Look what Duke did for Chris Duhon's mother...

There wouldn't be a problem with this if the father already had experience working in the oil business, just as long as nothing would be mentioned about, "conditions of employment."

Once you include other aspects of personal gain, outside of the actual scholarship benefits, you are asking for trouble.

    college basketball fans?
I know this, in a related story.

I live in slidell, home of bulls pg and former duke pg chris duhon. he was the high school player of the year, and went to duke, partially because his mom was given a good job in durham that she was probably under qualified for. I dont guess it's illegal cause it was never a secret... Im not stating absolute fact in this, but it's a pretty small town so the story doesnt get much of a chance to get too watered down before it gets to you.
