Definitely no way in hell the Raiders were offering a 1st round draft pick for a QB that was barely hanging on to his NFL career as a 3rd string backup.
The Patriots would be stupid to have not done this deal. There is no doubt in my mind the Raiders didnt offer a 1st round pick........now the Saints, I'd believe they'd be that stupid.
This is absurd. He's saying the offer was a couple of years ago. You know, right after Davey was drafted in 2002! How could he have a career as a 3rd string back up when he had only been in the league all of one or two years?
although I agree that's too much to pay for a backup QB, this is the same al davis who picked a kicker in the first rnd a few years ago. just look at what QBs have been traded for in the last few years. Saints essentially got Aaron Brooks for a 3rd. Philly got a 2nd for jay feeley, considered a rising star two years ago! Bledsoe was traded to Buff for a first rnd pick but we all know who got the better of that deal. Then again, Beldsoe was the first pick in the draft, with a few pro bowls and still only 30 yrs old. favre was traded for a first rounder although he was originally a 2nd rnd pick. IMO, that's too much to pay for an unproven player like rohan.
I don't believe this is true Crawfish(except the part about him being traded before the start of next season). I went to the Arkansas game with a childhood friend of mine(this guy had Ro as an usher in his wedding a couple of years ago & was on the field with Ro & his family on senior night) & this is what he told me. The Dolphins & the Raiders were interested, but the Pats wanted a 2nd round pick and both teams backed off. My friend speaks to Ro on a regular basis, so I'll make a call in a week or so and see what's on tap for Rohan.
