There are rumors going around that he was never hurt but serving a suspension. But I know he was seen on crutches. Either way, does anyone know if he's playing this Saturday or when he'll be back?
Interview today with Alleman in geaux zone, not sure if it's a freebie or a premium... discusses not being 100% right now. Kind of hard to hear the questions but one of his responses mentioned MCL... which is knee... In CLM press conference regarding kicking it sounded like he was trying not to say someone had an injury to the gluteus maximus
Alleman said he himself was NOT 100% but that when he is he can 'bang it out of the endzone'. That he isn't 'pushing' it and is doing what he is physically capable of now, the MCL (knee) being his I believe... that's he's not 'hurting' but getting stronger. CLM (and not sure *which* kicker was being referred to, I couldn't catch the question fully) was referring to a 'kicker's injury'/'health' and was trying not to say specifically (you know how he is about that) ... saying it's not the upper leg, it's not the lower leg, it's not the whole leg but it's the whole leg if you include the hip and the major muscles in that area... yeah... so it sounded like somebody may have literally gotten 'their ass kicked' or fell on it or something =\
Ok, thanks about Alleman and good to hear that he can get the job done on the kickoffs eventually. Hopefully it is in time for Florida and that kick return team that is potentially lethal. I will ignore that 2nd paragraph trying to decipher what Les said. My head hurts on that one.
That was Miles trying to get under Guilbeau's skin because he asked the same question about the injuries that everyone else did. So Miles was just letting him know that it is a leg injury and that is the only information you are getting. Later on Alleman confirmed it was some knee discomfort which only hurts his strength on KOs. He said he could kick it out of the endzone. However, he also confirmed that the coaching staff likes to get more hangtime and kick it to the one to try to make a play inside the 20. Been the same strategy for a few years now.
He kicks it to the 12, not the 1. It's not working out well. I would rather see an onside kick attempt every time between the 35 and 40 yard line like the one we almost got. Probably a 1 in 4 shot at getting the ball back, at the same time we only lost about 5 yards of field position from where the opponent was starting otherwise.
