I'm not going to complain too much because we just beat the crap out of two teams (I know they were not major teams but we beat the crap out of them). Brady is consistant with one thing, trasfers!! Gransberry walks away LSU's frontcourt depth took a hit Monday when junior college transfer Kentrell Gransberry quit the team before ever playing an official minute for the Tigers. A transfer from San Jacinto (Texas) College, the 6-foot-9, 270-pound Gransberry was expected to battle for playing time at the power forward position left vacant when Brandon Bass left LSU for the 2005 NBA Draft. But Gransberry played only 2 minutes in the Tigers' first exhibition game and has not been at practice since then. Meanwhile, in two exhibitions and two games, Thomas and Rolle have emerged as the primary backups to Davis and Lazare. Brady spoke to Gransberry and his mother several times over the last six days, but the player asked for his release Monday. Gransberry told Brady he will seek a scholarship at Southeastern Louisiana, Louisiana-Monroe or South Alabama. "He felt like the playing time he was going to get wasn't going to be there as much as maybe he would have liked," Brady said. "We talked about sitting out and redshirting, but even at that our discussion went to the fact that he would be in the same spot next year because everybody on our team is back. "He's a fine young guy and I'm disappointed that he wouldn't stay with us." Gransberry played basketball and football at Woodlawn High and was a key player on the Panthers' back-to-back Class 5A state championship teams. He originally opted to pursue a college career in football and signed a letter of intent with Louisiana Tech. After changing his mind to basketball, Gransberry enrolled at San Jacinto and emerged as one of the top rebounders at the JUCO level, averaging 12.6 rebounds as a freshman and a national-best 13.7 last season.
You act excited? Like so excited that you misspelled two words in the title of this post because you wanted to be the first to announce it.
You can't tell me this is a suprise to anyone. Brady has reapeatedly lost players through the years. For me watching LSU basketball is very hard to do because I want the Tigers to win but at the same time I know if they do win then the longer John Brady will be the head coach. And, I'm sorry if this pisses some of you off but having a POS like Brady as the head coach just turns me off to basketball.
At least you're honest. But, if you would rather lose than have Brady as coach, you have serious problems that can't be dealt with here.
No I don't wish the Tigers to lose ever. That happens enough without me wishing that upon them. I've been knowing Brady since his days at Crowley High and then at Samford, and I've know a number of his assistants. I think he's a good coach at a place like Samford, but I just don't care for him or his style of coaching at LSU.
playing time is keeping him from his NBA dreams so he is going to the powerhouse basketball facilities of SWL, South Alabama and LAMonroe... Alabama had 5 guys leave last year and only one to the pros... how many coaches are recruiting kids these days telling them that they will be role players and playing time will be small? All coaches tell players that they will be the man... Knowing that you can only put 5 on the floor at a time. The NBA continues to destroy College Basketball. Thankfully they are starting to realize it and put more restrictions on when kids can come out. We are about to have our 3rd Freshman of the year in a row in the SEC at LSU. That should be the headlines.
this is no big loss and has been coming for a week now (check older thread). Grans was a big body but that's about it - he is slow. Tyrus Thomas (Stromile Jr.) and Darnelle will fill this role nicely
