It was a nice run for a few years

But this Saint team is done. It's got nothing left.

I'm not ready to put the bag over my head (yet), but this sure AINT the Saint team I was hopeful of seeing this year even without coach.

0=2 going to Green Bay. Looking at the schedule, and most importantly the will to win, dust off the bag.

Week three is against Kansas City which lost today (35/17) to Buffalo. Even if Saints win that one, then they will take their 1/2 record to Green Bay.

I sure thought we would see a much improved Saint's game this week, but that obviously was not the case.

Just listened to Saint's coach post-game interview. He said that he saw improvement this week (fewer penalties and better third down conversion rate) and the Saint's goal is to win more games than they lose which sure is a much less lofty goal than us fans had going into this season.

Not true. I honestly believe they would not have played this poorly if Sean were on the sidelines. I'm not saying they'd be 2-0, but they would not have played this poorly.

This year may be a wash (even though there's plenty of time to rally), but this team is far from done. Once they settle in to Spags' PROVEN defensive scheme, can get a few more players to execute it, and get their coach back, they'll have AT LEAST one, maybe two more Super Bowl runs left in them.

Yes. This team is disorganized at present from all the shenanigans going on with this bounty farce. I think we will take a year off and bounce back next year. Sure would like to see Spag's defense play better now, though. It looks like last year minus some 3rd down stops.

This team is far removed from the championship team. Look at the players that have departed since then. It's basically a new team that has no continuity whatsoever.

Huge key here. Remember the stat quoted during the game the other day....in Spags' first season in NY, they gave up 80 points in the first two games, and then an average of 17 the rest of the season, on the way to winning a Super Bowl. Most will respond with "But he had better personnel in NY" and my knee-jerk reaction is to agree. Then again, who the hell ever heard of Justin Tuck, Jason Pierre-Paul and Osi Umenyiora before that season?

We (me included) were probably delusional to think this team would contend for the Super Bowl without Payton on the sidelines. But I think the obit is a little premature.

I have thought since CSP was suspended that the over/under for this year would be 8.5 wins.

I've been going between "it's all ok" and "it's gonna be a 6-10 season" the past couple of weeks. The way the season has shaken out so far, makes this week's game so much bigger than it originally looked. A win over what looks to be a pretty bad Chiefs team won't make the season but a loss just might break it.

If (and that's a big IF) everything gels this week there's nothing to say this team can't go on an 8, 9, 10 or more game run. Of course, Green Bay, San Diego, Philly, Atlanta and San Francisco might have something to say about that.
