Could you post a link to where he said that so we can all look at the context that it was originally taken from?
This LSU team should not need any bulletin board material to get fired up. We were embarrassed last year. And the SEC West title is on the line this weekend. If we aren't ready to play ... shame on the players!
Here you go. As you can see, I didn't take it out of context so... http://www.2theadvocate.com/stories/102003/spo_auburn001.shtml
You didn't. The reporter did though. It was obviously a response to some question, but we don't know what the question was or what else he said. For instance, is it really bulletin board material if that was the answer to a question like, "Can anyone beat you guys when you and Cadillac are both clicking like you did today?" I'd say no. I don't care who the team is. If Oklahoma gives up 161 yds on 15 carries to Caddy and 181 yds on 31 carries to Jacobs, "it'd be hard for [Oklahoma] to beat us" too.
Please reread what I said. Then, armed with that newfound knowledge, post something that scratches the surface of making some sense.
Now that is out of context. Auburn rattles off some good numbers against Mississippi State and they are now mentioned in the same breath with Oklahoma. Geesh. Come take your medicine this weekend auburn.
My point, which obviously passed in one ear and out the other unobstructed, was that you can put any team in the blank. If Cadillac rushes for 161 yds and Jacobs for 181 in the same game, I'd be willing to bet we'd beat anyone. That's just a fact of life. That's 342 yds on 46 carries (a 7.4 yd per carry avg). That means your team is getting obliterated. You name me a team that can give up that kind of yardage on the ground in a game and still win. Please tell me you aren't this dumb.
Hey, I'll acknowledge that. If Auburn is hitting on all cylinders, they absolutely can beat anybody in the country. Thing is, when LSU is hitting on all cylinders, WE can also beat anybody in the country.
