I am now a Miles supporter. Not crazy about the guy but then again i do not believe in love at first sight. SKB
Love the hire, but I will feel 100% better once I hear that Muschamp has been retained and Clay is not the DC.
OK Tiger fans, the bashing ends NOW! I have been as critical of this hire as anyone. I don't like the timing of the Dolphins' courting of Saban, which prevented LSU from talking to Spurrier or Meyer, who were already off the market. I didn't like Saban announcing he was leaving on Xmas Day, after supposedly agonizing over the decision. I think it was foolish for Bertman to state publicly that LSU fans would be surprised by the level of interest in the job, and that there were "big names" on it. I don't understand why Petrino wasn't hired. I don't understand why LSU couldn't have waited a few days to see what shakes loose at the end of the NFL season. I am irritated by comments by Joe Dean, and, by Nick Saban, regarding the coaching search. And, I am very disappointed at the poor coaching in the bowl game. With all that said .... LSU has a new head football coach, Les Miles. By all accounts, he is a solid coach and a solid citizen. He runs a fairly imaginative offense. If LSU is going to continue its success in football, it will need its fan community to get behind this man and support the program. Let's give him a chance. Let's see how he does in the press conference tomorrow. Let's see what kind of staff he puts together. Let's see how we wind up in recruiting. I am not thrilled with the hire, but, it is time to move on. I think Miles has a chance to do a great job at LSU, but, not without everyone pulling in the same direction. GEAUX TIGERS!!! :lsug: :champs: :laflagwav :usaflagwa :911: :geaux:
I think the odds of that happening are slim and none. Historically a new HC is going to surround himself with his own staff. I'd love to see Will stay also, but I don't think it's going to happen. If it does, I'll eat some of that crow that's being served in another thread
Thanks Tiger I was trying to stay in denial as long as possible, hoping that he would choose to stay a Cowboy. But truth be told, this is a much better move for him and his family. You guys are a perinnial top 5 team. We are top 30 at best most years. Your facilities are amazing, ours are getting better. Good luck with our old coach, he did great things here and really got us turned around. I hope to meet you all at a bowl game someday, maybe in a year at the Cotton Bowl.
Buy your ticket packages for Shreveport early, fellas. That's my last word on the subject. Prove me wrong, Coach Miles...PLEASE prove me wrong.
