I watched ESPN News for an hour this morning. Saw ND, USC, OU, Texas, Georgia and Ohio State highlights. If not for the LSU score on the crawl at the bottom of the screen, I wouldn't have known they played a game yesterday. Top 5 team? No highlights? Slight or no video available?

You are preaching to the choir. Somebody will sure as hell have to show LSU for several hours in a row next Saturday. This is built in motivation for the team.

Those other games were on major networks. The LSU game was not. It was probably an issue of being too lazy to get the crappy feed most people saw last night. And having to pay fees for it at that. Just wasn't worth it to make several thousand coon-asses happy.

I seriously doubt the team gathers much, if any, motivation from how ESPN covers LSU but it does chap my a$$ a bit. I was watching too and there was nothing...nadda...not a mention of the game.

Its like I said in the past, just keep winning and the name LSU will soon be rolling of the lips of these talking heads just like the other teams they constantly hype. We havent been in the spotlight near as long as some of these others but are well on the way.

I don't know if they use it for motivation or not. But, if I played for the defending nat'l champs and watched sportscenter(which 9 out of 10 sports nuts watch) and didn't get a mention it would sure make me want to do something that would MAKE them speak more of LSU. And you are right; it will take more than one season to prove to others what we already know. LSU will be ringing in their ears for years to come. We are about to reap a bountiful harvest for the next four years.

Since the game was not televised I would not have expected them to go the extra effort required to get any highlights. With that being said, I do not see this as a shun against LSU.

I'm not really worked up over it because it's something that has always been. But, this is a top 5 team and ESPN has about 30 geeks in front of monitors who do nothing but compile information and highlights for their sportscasts. Do you honestly believe that had Notre Dame won a non televised game that they would not have hustled up some highlights?

    Notre Dame

Of course they would have hustled up some highlights for Notre Dame and USC. The two media darlings of college football? That's a given.
