And that's a shame because he is entertaining during a slow part of the day.

I just heard him say that college football is so much better when Notre Dame and USC are doing well. Give me a GD break, Jim. It's better when the media is gushing over their 2 favorite teams and shorting/discounting the others? His bias is wearing me quite thin these days. Thankfully, the Otters show cut him off yesterday before he spent 10 minutes praising USC for their heroic victory over the mighty Rainbows.:dis:

His show was good and fresh and entertaining about 8 years ago. It's gone downhill ever since, to the point I can't stand the guy. Guess that's a topic for a whole different thread though.

Anytime you get pissed at Rome, just remember he got bitched on national tv by "Chris Evert"

I hate Jim Rome is Burning. After a few months or so of refusing to watch his show, I'll forget why I hate it and turn it on for a couple minutes and that's enough to keep me away for another couple months. He's just like those Sporting News radio broadcasters that think sports are all about them and not the athletes.

See, and that's why I could never outright hate him. That was awesome, and I have the clip on my computer. I watch it frequently for a good laugh.

Very well stated. He's definitely got a face/personality for radio, if you know what I mean.

I like Jim. The only problem I have is those stupid emails. When he's reading them you can almost predict the punchline. But, some of them are funny. Everyone has an opinon. I dont think its any reason to hate anyone b/c they have differing opinions than you do. Rome has a left coast bias. Buddy has an LSU bias. Altough I disagree with virtually everything Buddy says, I dont hate him. I still listen to his program. Those national hosts thrive on the fact that people disagree with them. Since you found him so awful, you had to talk about it on a message board. Now, b/c you sparked interest, other people will have to listen to see what all the fuss is about. Someone must agree with him though b/c he is on in a whole lot of markets. I have a tendency to listen to people I dislike more than those I like. It's like the old Howard Stern thing from Private Parts...The stern haters listened more than the ones that liked him. The reason? B/c they want to hear what he'll say next. Also, no press is bad press:)

its only entertaining for a relatively short time. then you can predict every stupid thing that happens everyday 10 years down the road.

how weak are the constant emails: " i see nothing wrong with that boy staying over.. blah blah" signed, michael jackson.

i listen accidentally if on in my vehicle going somewhere from work then change it.

hes like a hot girl you date for awhile with no substance. eventually boredom sets in. the thing is, jr doesnt have nice cans.

Scrapheap, don't take too many cues from him though. In the long term, people want a sports show to be about sports, not about the host himself, or specific listeners. Also, people respect honesty and not talking badly about athletes, then riding their jocks when they're on the air. Just my opinion, though.

He wish that clown really would just burn. The world would be a better place.
