    Finally!

He looks awesome now that he's decided to use his feet a little. During the Tennessee game, he picked up a few big first downs and last week ran for 25 yards on 3rd and 20.

A quarterback who can occasionally run for a few yards and move the chains is a BIG asset. I hope he keeps it up.

I hope he learns to slide ! Somebody is going to take a crack at his legs. Glad to see him running a bit, that adds another dimension that the defense must account for.

I agree. I am glad he is starting to take off with the ball to give us another dimension but if he doesnt slide he is going to get killed.

I'm sure the grounds crew is hoping he doesn't start sliding. It will be like a 7 yard divot. :hihi:

In all seriousness, it is a good wrinkle to throw at defenses and draw their LBs inside medium routes.

Also helps his NFL prospects as they see he's not a Battleship Lorenzen, despite his DE size.

LOL, the defensive end for UT thought he was gonna "kill" him with that free shot he had on JR too. Of course we saw how that ended up.:hihi:

I was pleasantly surprised at his speed. He didn't look anywhere near a 4.97 40 speed. I don't think he needs to learn to slide. I just think he's too tough to get hurt on a run.

It may be deceiving because of his height..... was it Matt Jones the Arkansas QB who had deceiving speed. One of Russell's strides is probably two yards.
