Will be on the show later. I dont think he will be on the show but they were going to have someone come in and talk about how his performance thus far was expected. Whatever that means. My guess is they are going to put some Heisman spotlight on him. If it was expected he should have been on the list at the beginning of the season, right.

I dunno about the Heisman, but they are showing him some love... He's also in the 'Who's Hot? Who's Not?' section for week 5 in cfn.scout.com...

JaMarcus was named the SEC Player of the week this week, as well.

He's also in the Heisman Watch column on cnnsi.com

"If the Watchman needed a quarterback from this list for an NFL team, Russell would be the choice. He has great size (6-foot-6, 260 pounds), decent mobility and a big arm that finds its targets at a deadly accurate rate (he's completing 70.4 percent of his passes). Against Mississippi State he did more than just dump off short passes, often burning the Bulldogs with vapor-trailing deep strikes."

No one is more accurate the JR in college right now. If he gets time and is comfortable it is money. The only time he threw bad passes or didn't put enough on it was a few times in the Auburn game. He really didn't look very comfortable at times.

I find it ridiculous that Quinn and Leak are still being heavily touted as Heisman candidates. Neither have been stellar but very average and sometimes awful. I can understand Quinn because he is a media darling playing for ND and was worshipped last season, but why Leak? I'm puzzled with the media.

Just saw the segment replay. It only lasted a minute or so. Talked about his career day. I think the media is just making sure all the possible canidates are accounted for.

They reported that they asked JR what he want to be remembered for as a Tiger. He said he just wants to be known as a nice person. I like how he is humble on that response.

Are we ever going to see something about JR that doesnt mention Fats Domino?

I think the game Saturday could separate Russell from Leak with an outstanding performance and ultimately the 'W'.

Another performance like that of Auburn and another close loss with leave Russell in mediocrity and nowhere close to Heisman talk.

He needs to step up and will the team to victory (much like Vince Young had a knack of doing last season).
