Saw this on ESPN this morning, sounds like this guy is all about the Tigers now...........

"We were just talking about my opportunities here, and not anywhere else -- how would it be if I was here, instead of out of state," he said. "They're not just trying to fill my head up because it's their job, but just talking to me on a personal level."

Brazil finds himself in a similar situation to another well-known Tiger recruit of recent history: current wide receiver Russell Shepard.

Shepard committed to LSU early as a member of the ESPNU 150 and then spent the next few months as a sort of recruiter, helping to lure others into the Tigers' class.

That process begins now for Brazil, who finds himself on the 2013 ESPNU Watch List as an athlete. With LSU camps coming up in the spring and fall, Brazil said he hopes to make himself available to other Tigers recruits.

"I just got done shooting them all my number on Facebook," he said. "I just want to get closer to them and try to help [LSU] build a national championship class."

The strategy certainly worked with Shepard. In 2009, when Shepard committed, the Tigers finished with the nation's top class, highlighted by current stars such as Sam Montgomery and Michael Ford, as well as future draft pick Rueben Randle.

After finishing with the No. 14 recruiting class in 2012, the Tigers could use another effort like Shepard's. And they'll be looking at Brazil.

"That's pretty much all I heard (Saturday). They want me to take that leadership role like Russell Shepard and Jarvis Landry and Odell Beckham and all of them did," he said. "They want me to help the team through leadership and get in touch with everybody and tell them, 'Hey, come to LSU,' and just help out."

The Tigers needed no help from Brazil in landing their most recent commitments, however.

"That was based on their decisions. But I did talk to Tre'Davious yesterday, and he said he felt good, like he's pretty sure about it," Brazil said. "I haven't talked to Chuck, so I can't really say."

But going forward, Brazil said he plans to take the reins for 2013. After his decommitment and recommitment, he said he's committed to the cause.

"I'm going to pick up that leadership role and show I can be a leader by staying strong to my commitment, and basically not even worry about these other schools," he said.

    This is great news.

It certainly did work with Shepard.

Even if he hasn't panned out with all his potential, he certainly helped bring a national championship caliber class in.

I still think the coaches don't know how to utilize Shep properly. I don't buy into the "he can't catch" position yet. He hasn't been thrown too enough to really tell.

All it takes is one pass to hit you in the hands and you drop it to learn that you can't catch. Shep has had dozens, just like Toliver did his first couple years. I don't need four years of dropping the ball to tell that a guy cant catch.

Every ball thrown to Shepard is a ball not thrown to OBJ...

I believe Shep should have moved to a DB position due to the fact that he has had some trouble securing catches. But we must hand it to him he has been a great voice for the TIGERS in recruiting players. I hope Brazil can have the same swaying power in bringing talent together for us.:geauxtige

I have talked to Brazil extensively on twitter, he was one of the first 2013 recruits I talked to. He said he will be playing CB at LSU. This kid has blazing speed, definitely one of the fastest in the state this year. He just ran a 6.35 in the 55 meter (Trindon ran a 6.27).

He is a superb athlete and a great kid. He is definitely a leader, and he is leading the recruitment for the 2013 class. I have also given him many names to go out and recruit. And hopefully with his relationship with them, along with our Twitter love and support, we can reel in some other top recruits from around the nation.

    2nd fastest nationally.
