During the live chat on ESPN with Perrilloux he commented that the only thing that would change his commitment to Texas would be a change in the coaching staff that recruited him (i.e. Mack Brown or Greg Davis). This started me thinking about Jimbo Fisher's future with LSU and just how much longer he's going to be around. He's obviously on track for a head coaching position, deservedly so, and I've read that he's just waiting for the right situation to present itself. My question is when do you think he will leave and who is a potential replacement? A promotion from within or someone outside? Also, I've read some of Saban's critics (probably biased West coast writers but I can't remember) say that he is one bad O Coordinator hire from being mediocre. I obviously disagree but it did make me think.
If Jimbo were to leave, I doubt very seriously that there would be a promotion from within. I think Saban would go after an established O cord. with a similar work ethic from a smaller D1 school. Some people think Jimbo is next in line if Saban goes to the NFL. Im not really sure. He certainly wants to be a head coach, and because he has it so good at LSU, I think it would take the perfect opening to lure him away. I dont think he is just waiting around for a shot at the LSU job, though.
lol worst post ever. yeah that's why nfl teams are drooling to get our mediocre coach while Mack would be hard-pressed to get a UTEP assistant job once UT is forced to run him off. critics? cite some sources, Id like to see those quotes.
Jackass, You think I'm slamming Saban and supporting Mack? What's your problem? I am an LSU fan that just lives in Austin. I agree with you dumbass. I don't document every article that I read so I can't give you resources but are you saying that it is impossible that someone might have that opinion? Believe it or not there are people that don't look at LSU and see the same things we do.
I've actually seen that exact same quote and I believe it was from one of the CFN or Sportline writers but not sure. It was in one of those articles where they rated the sEC coaches. To answer your ? about Jimbo his very hard since none of us know who is going to offer him a HC job. As far as who replacement would be I am sure Saban would interview several but I also think they have probably researched a few starting last season while Jimbo was interviewing. I don't know why a replacement would have to come from a small school though, I'm sure that there are several at larger schools that saban would be be interested in.
ooh jackass and dumbass. easy there killer. first off, if you think anyone credible besides some gay friend of yours in SF would ever think Saban is mediocre without jimbo...well nevermind. ok so it was something you read on a USC board? who cares if youre slamming saban or not....its such an assinine comment it wasnt worth the effort repeating. By the way, I heard Mack Brown would own Stoops without GD. What do you think? jeeez ok i'll answer what I think which will get you a token on the LSU subway in Austin. Once Tuberville is run off in 2 years, Jimbo will be the new AuBarn coach til little nickie decides to coach the falcons or bears.
