Just heard an SEC insider on the radio, here in Jacksonville, Fl, say that, due to a rift between Jimbo and Les, Houston Nutt is trying to lure him to Arkansas. The insider sounded like this was a very real possibility. The insider was Jimmy Hindes (or Heinz).

    First I've heard of this.

I think Jimbo leaves this year but it will be for a head coaching position and not
as a off/cord. for someone like Arkansas.

I'm guessing you're talking about Jimmy Hyams. I think he used to write for the Advocate, TigerRag, and the Knoxville paper. Good writer and good guy.

Jimbo will not leave for anything other than a HC position. IMO

Who knows? All I know is that I'm ON MY WAY TO ATLANTA BABY!!!! See you there. Everyone travel safe. Salty out.

Jimbo only goes to a HC job. He would be insane to leave a talented Top 5 team for another OC job. Another OC job will not help his career at all. He gets all the attention he needs at LSU now so people will consider him as a possible HC in the future. Going to a pitiful Ark team would give him no attention and wouldn't benefit his career. Now I would maybe buy the rumor if it was a HC job.

I would like to know if there is something happening btwn Les and Jimbo. The play calling has been borderline conservative but fairly decent and balanced, but I just have problems with the predictability of the calls when you see certain players come in. They don't mask or try to throw off defenses. If Skyler comes in you know it is a play for him, lately if Addai is in - it will be a pass play and he is in there to block, too many end arounds etc, and JR can't fake a hand off for nothing. They might as well stop play action pass b/c it does nothing.

This move makes no sense unless Nutt is luring him to be his replacement at Arkansas.

the word is the hogs will be hiring a OC this offseason.. as you know Nutt assumes that roll currently. i have heard Crowtons (from Oregon) name being thrown around but not Jimbos.

listening to one of the radio shows on the score the other day a guy made a good point, there really arent any D1 jobs opening this offseason other than Kansas St.

so if there truely is friction there Jimbo will probably have to take an OC posistion if he leaves.

if Jimbo does leave i'd like to see Les take on the OC role, that way we'd get to the bottom of offensive woes. if our O wasnt living up to potential we'd def. know who to blame.

    LSU!

No way in hell do I want him assuming the role of OC & risk a season just to find out "who to blame".

Miles has proven he can go out & bring in top quality coordinators. I say, if Jimbo leaves, let him.

What a pile of crap. Why would Jimbo Fisher leave a top 10 program and the $$ and prestige that go with it to go to a team in the same division with a head coach that's on a seat so hot it's glowing white?

Only reason why he came back last offseason was it was the best choice in relation to other opportunities out there. When that is not the case, he'll leave--could be this year, could be next.

Same goes for Pelini. The right jobs will come for both, and being OC at Arkansas sure as hell isn't the "right" job for Jimbo.
