Fisher to Browns? Ed Daniels of WGNO in New Orleans just reported that Jimbo has interviewed with the Browns for qb. coach.
Re: Fisher to Browns? well he just offered to buy some land (in the UC) from a friend of mine this past Saturday - take it for what you will...
Re: Fisher to Browns? At some point these guys have to display one ounce of loyalty and honor the commitment they have made. I hope this isn't true. If it is, and Fisher takes the Browns job, that tells me he ain't exactly getting along with ol' Les. What sort of off. coord. could LSU get at this late date? Was Crowton hired by anyone, was he spotted recently slumming it with Dave Campeaux on Bourbon Street? Jimbo can be smart and stay in BR and earn a nice paycheck and have job security or go to Cleveland and get fired w/ that staff in 3 years.
Re: Fisher to Browns? If true, I think Les has to kick his a** to the curb pronto. I mean, I'm all for assistants trying to better their lot in life and in their profession, but this is ridiculous. Spring ball is right around the corner, for one thing. A month ago, yeah. Six weeks ago, better. Now? No way.
Re: Fisher to Browns? Oh well... even if it IS true recruiting is over with, and we got RP. Since Les is an offensive minded guy, I don't think Jimbo's presence would be missed too much. But I don't think it IS true one bit. Look at everything he has passed up in the past to stay at LSU. He could have had HC job after HC job which could have been used as a springboard into the NFL, if that is indeed what he wanted to do. As for my money, I'm putting it down that he stays at LSU.
BATON ROUGE -- LSU offensive coordinator Jimbo Fisher interviewed with the Cleveland Browns on Monday for their quarterbacks coaching job, but LSU head coach Les Miles is confident Fisher will remain at LSU. http://www.shreveporttimes.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20050223/SPORTS0202/502230348/1028
Oh man. I don't like to hear that. It would be REALLY late to find a new OC. Come on Jimbo! Don't do it!
